My family and I went to this cosy Leeds pub on a Sunday afternoon after a stroll down the nearby Leeds / Liverpool canal.
The outside of the pub has changed significantly since our last visit in that the pub has a fantastic heated outside smoking area, very continental in styling and a lovely place to sit and pass the afternoon.
The interior is still olde worlde as I remember it from my last visit and is warm and inviting.
The most pleasing change I noticed from my last visit is in the quality of welcome and service we received. Everyone is greeted like an old friend, with genuine old fashioned hospitality. The beer is fantastic, a minimum of 6 different cask ales from local breweries as well as a more than adequate selection of Malt whisky.
The food is a joy to behold, hot, tasty and restaurant quality, with service to match. Oh and the home cooked desserts are to die for!
Will definitely be back to this quirky but friendly public house in the very near future. Recommended to all!

Food is alway good quality and a lovely friendly atmosphere, easy going, genuinely friendly staff, no put on smiles here they oose friendliness. As if they have known you for a while rather than just met you. Very impressed.
