The Abeno restaurant in Bloomsbury was our first taste of Japanese food! We did not know what to expect, maybe something like raw fish? Anyway, there was delicious sake hot rice wine and we tried an aubergine starter, which we had to have more of, before proceeding to the main rice course. We didn't eat some of the lovely omelette like dishes being served to others, cooked on the hotplate tables but they looked and smelt really appetising. Our rice dish was very tasty, but we aren't sure what it was called. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience and recommend this very special authentic Japanese food to everyone. Most of the customers were Japanese, which is a good sign. We will be back to explore some more when we have found a Japanese friend to accompany us.
