I REALLY ENJOYED THIS ITALIAN. BEEN TO MOST IN CARLISLE AND THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST. EVERYONE WAS HELPFUL AND VERY FRIENDLY. LOVELY FOOD AND QUICK SERVICE EVEN ON SATURDAY NIGHT.

Sadly we could not recommend this restaurant after our experience last night (26th Dec). We had booked a table for a landmark birthday many weeks in advance. When we arrived we found the place in darkness, much to our surprise. We managed to speak to someone in the restaurant by telephone who immediately blamed thier staff for making a booking in error, but what could we expect as it was a bank holiday after all.
We will never be back so will not be able to review the food. The review of the admin of the place would have to be very poor as they could not arrange a celebration dinner with weeks worth of notice!

Arrived in Carlisle from South Wales this weekend to visit friends, they had booked a table at Adriano's and told us we were in for a treat! When we arrived we were greeted by a genuine Italian!! and shown to the lounge, what a good idea, a great place to relax before and after a meal. The menu is vast, with something for everyone, our meal arrived as promised and was gorgeous, everything about this restaurant is outstanding, from the decor to the food, well worth a visit, next time were in Carlisle we WILL be back!

Before seeing a show at theatre we went for dinner at Adraino's as it is within easy walking distance. We were very impressed by the decor and atmosphere. The service was very professional and friendly. The food was delicious and I would recommend the Lamb dish.

We discovered Adriano's during our stay in Carlisle. We ordered the chicken valdostana which was excellent. The pasta dish was better than most I have tried. We highly recommend this fine Italian restaurant and would certainly eat there again.

Having read an appalling review of this restaurant on another web site, I went in some trepidation. However, the service was prompt, helpful and the food good - similar to that of the handful of good pubs in Cumbria. My only criticism was the pool of excess oil on the food (a common problem - when will chefs learn that this isn? necessary to the flavour) and the coffee was the usual poisonous and undrinkable English brew. I will certainly go back to this place.

After being turned away on a busy, wet Friday night I was delighted when the manager called my husband and I back from the darkness of Rickersgate to say a table had just come free. We settled into the buzz at the end of "happy hour" and as the theatre- goers peeled away a sophisticated atmosphere enhanced by a excellent pianist and some fabulous food was revealed. The highlight of the meal for me were some exquisite prawns (better than any I have tasted here or overseas) and the tender pheasant morsels which I stole from my husband's plate. Three courses, plus coffee and a lovely bottle of well chilled pinot grigio came in at £61 and was well spent. I'd advise booking but I really was bowled over by the ambiance, cuisine, and service.

What a fantastic restaurant... I have been on numerous occasions and have recommended it to many people. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to accommodate your needs. The owner also works at the restaurant and it is a pleasure to see him as busy as the other staff as well as a pleasure to talk to. Very highly recommended and somewhere I will definitely go again and again.

The restaurant in decorated to a very high standard, the food is of the highest quality, and all the staff are really friendly. There is a separate lounge to have a quiet drink after or before your meal. Its just like being in Italy, well worth a visit, ill be back!
