Akbar's Bradford is once of Favorite restaurants in Bradford. It has it all - the looks, the feel and the quality of a pro restaurant. Being a Curry love, I adore theirs greatly, you can tell they have perfected the cooking of it. Cant forget to mention the staff as well, who actually remember your face and name. (not because I go there alot :)) Top class Service and Food. Best in Bradford and the UK.

Akbar's night out was definitely a night to remember, it was great!. We were addressed very politely by the staff and where seated and having our starters very quickly. The food was delicious and not cold. We loved every minute of it, I recommend them greatly.

This place has gone downhill in my estimation!.
The quality of food is over rated and to say the place is cramped, is understating the fact. It spoils the whole experience, dont you think?.
An advance booking usually involves a wait of 30min or so. A friend of mine booked a table for 9 and upon arrival they were informed casually by the waiter that only 6 would be accommodated for. Ridiculous !.

My husband took me to Akbars in Leeds because he had heard such good things about this place.
We were sat at a table as soon as we were through the door on these very high seats, to big for the table. The waiters were not very friendly, it was almost like a cafe, get you sat down, get your meal, then out.
The starter was very nice, but when we got our main course, they brought it without giving us plates, which were brought 5 mins later so our food was just warm and the plates were cold, when we told the waiter we did not have any plates, he did not seem to care he just said they will be here soon.
There is just no personal touch with the diner in this place, and my husband was very disappointed as he was looking forward to taking me.
Would not go again.

Akbars has always been one of my favourite venues for a sit down curry. It's always busy, but seating rarely takes too long. In the past I've booked and I've just turned up. It doesn't seem to make much difference either way to the time from walking in to sitting down though. The food has always tasted exceptional and the family sized nans would outface even Homer Simpson. My only niggle with Akbars is that the last time I visited, on a Saturday evening last summer, I was sat on a table for two next to the kitchen door. Every time it opened there was a waft of sewerage. A bit of a put off.

Just had a weekend away with my wife to leeds, and one place i had to try and see for myself was Akbars (The Grand)
on entering Akbars on a Saturday evening about 7ish the restaurant was full to the rafters, we asked for a table for 2 and was seated almost rightaway, by a very kind waiter, within 2 minuets we had the Popodoms and the pickles on the table, with drinks served about 1 minute later, Our starter was the start of things to come, with chicken tikka for the wife, and sheek kabab for me, Lush, Main Course, Tikka Chicken with Keema meat was out of this world, never tasted anything like it before, and the wife's Chicken Bhuna was mild enough for her, what next, a Garlic Nan the size of Mini Cooper Tyre, Hot and very tasty. watching all the cooks doing their thing was something. Indian Restaurant's i've been to does'nt come as near to perfection as Akbars does. Car'nt wait to go back

First time we visited this place was by chance! and it was the best restaurant I had ever been to, that served great food at a very reasonable price!!! There were 5 of us and each of us really enjoyed the food, even though we had to wait about 30mins to be seated, and the service was slightly slow....however as it was very busy that night we made allowances as the service we did receive was very friendly and efficient.
