About Alverton Hotel

An institution and one of the grandest buildings in Truro, the four-star Alverton Hotel is a Grade-II listed converted convent set in its own private gardens. The hotel is brimming with history and romance and has its own bell tower, Delabole slate roof, arched mullioned windows, ivy-clad walls and curved archways. It has recently been refurbished in heritage chic style and boasts 34 unique bedrooms, a stylish bar and brasserie and stunning wedding and conference facilities. The AA-rosetted Alverton Brasserie overlooks the garden and terrace and is flooded with light during the day whilst at night you can enjoy a more intimate meal by soft lamplight. Head Chef Simon George crafts his menus around what fresh produce is available locally and the food is complemented by an extensive selection of wines and champagnes. The Alverton Hotel is also very popular for weddings and conferences.

Last night a party of 25 people went to a private function at the Alverton Manor Hotel. The building was beautiful, but it a shame that the food and the service didnt match.The menu was a very limited choice, 3 people went without a main meal as they hadn't pre ordered, and there were no spare steaks, the steaks and fish were served without appropriate cutlery, you had no choice of how the steak was cooked, food presentation wasn't to the standard to expect from such a place, coffee came before dessert, some of the staff were quite rude at times, and many members of our party were overcharged. I was looking forward to this evening as Ive heard lots of good reviews about the Alverton Manor, but I was very disappointed, and would not recommend it to anyone.

Alverton Manor

We got married at Alverton Manor Hotel this month and can honestly say that it was the best day of our lives. The food was superb and the service impeccable. The restaurant is excellent and extremely good value for money and they use locally sourced food where possible. The staff are friendly, professional and nothing is too much trouble. A fantastic place to eat. Bookings definately necessary.
