Went here based on reviews, had been many years before but wasn't impressed then
But thought why not try again as reviews seemed good.
Decor much improved, lighting is terrible way to bright, feels like being in a operating theatre. heating was on way to high myself and another guest had to remove clothing.
Met by a young man who was very friendly and professional great start the restaurant was empty at 6.30pm ! shown to our seats offered options which is always good
placed our drinks order which arrived promptly, the specials menu for £14.95 was very limited in the choices.just basic chicken dishes and the usual pizza options.
I had garlic mushrooms which were breaded !! never a good sign, they were very bland had no real taste tiny pot of bland mayonnaise ,very poor.
my partner had the mushroom covered with goats cheese again lacking in any real taste plus greasy.
I had beef stroganoff with rice large portion which was good better too much rather than not enough,my partner had a chilli chicken pasta dish but again the chicken tasted bland, we both thought it tasted frozen.
Didn't bother with a desert for obvious reasons, what a let down considering the feed back i am at a loss as to why it there was such a difference for us.
The soft seats were very very uncomfortable the seat bases have all collapsed due to usage i suspect, they are not matched to the table height subsequently you are almost reaching over your food, and i am 6ft 1 !!
Overview: the chef needs to taste his food as he prepairs it sort the chairs out asap, turn the lights down to create a more relaxing environment and i think it would be a place i would like to go back to.

We've been to Andiamos on a number of occasions now and never been dissapointed. When visiting restaurants I sometimes think, "I could cook this at home for a fraction of the price" but this is not the case at Andiamos, the food is top notch. Staff are friendly and they treat the customers with respect in that they don't rush you with courses to get you out of the door. I can highly reccommend the Tournedo rossini, at £24 its well worth the money. Monday to Friday they do a choice of set menus and so taking the family for a treat is not going to break the bank.If I had to find any critisism it would be that they need to change the chairs in the main part of the restaurant, they're just too straight backed for me and not very comfortable, I can only presume its a space saving thing. Apart from that I can't really fault it. I will be going there again!!

What a find. A gem of an Italian in cowey head. Nice dining room, smart & clean. The young staff were cheerful & freindly. The food superb, hot & tasty. Small menu plus specials board. I can't reccomend this place enough. Beer & wine prices OK.

I highly recommend this place. I live in westhoughton and have been to all the local restaurants at lest twice, some, more often, and been to restaurants in the citys like Manchester and London, but after going to Andiamo's, i truly believe it to be the best one i have been to. the portions were spot on, and i have a big appetite, the wine selection is great and the staff are very friendly. I'm going back tonight. Cant wait. :)

I recommend everything on the menu, I recommend the ambience, I recommend the service and the staff are so attentive and are actually eager to ensure you have a great night. This is a little bit of heaven in Westhoughton. Without fear of contradiction I highly recommend Andiamo's. My only concern is that it becomes so popular I cant get a table.

what can I say, I have dined in restaurants across the world; this was a truly 'feel-good' dining experience. Can't wait to return. Top Class, Top Marks.

what a great place to go and have a great meal. just to inform you, i found out that if you leave a tip for the staff, the staff actually only receive a £3 tip at the end of each night and the rest of the money goes to the management, so DON'T leave a tip!!!!! the lady running front of house seems to be a nice person when serving you, i overheard her speaking to a member of staff VERY NASTILY!!!

As our nearest restaurant and the only one in reasonable walking distance, we were hoping for a really nice evening. Unfortunately we were a little let down. I have to say that it is difficult to say exactly what isn't quite right but the overall experience is disappointing.
The restaurant has been extended since our last visit is a welcoming environment. We were greeted with a smile and promptly shown to our table, where we were still in the process of sitting down when we were asked if we wanted a drink while we were waiting - waiting for what? we hadn't even sat down! Despite having some coat racks, you are left to put your coats over the back of your chair (good job it wasn't raining).
The menu is a little odd, with a huge range of sauted chicken, but it is a bit like spot the difference between some of them and every single one had mushrooms in (something I don't like), I am sure they would have made one without mushrooms if I asked but it would be better if they simplified the range of chicken dishes a little and perhaps added something else instead.
Our order was taken fairly swiftly and the starters arrived promptly. Both were nice but the pate only came with a tiny amount of toast which did somewhat spoil it.
There was a bit of a wait between the starter and main course but not too excessive, however in this time I had an empty glass and after several attempts I finally managed to attract the attention of one of the waitrers and I ordered another beer. It was quite a long time before it finally arrived (as it was simply a bottle of peroni, it should have been quicker).
The main course was eventually served and we had bearly taken a mouthful before we were asked if everything was alright. Food was OK but not exceptional.
Our plates were cleared promptly and we were bought the dessert menu (including the specials on a tatty bit of paper). These were almost dumped on the table. We quickly chose what we wanted and then waited a long time to order them (for no apparent reason as the staff weren't that busy). As soon as we had ordered them and some coffees we were asked by almost all the other staff whether we wanted anything else!
The italian trifle was disappointing for something advertised as the chef's speciality - it was a little bland. We then waited ages for our coffees despite ordering them with the desserts and being asked whether we wanted any when our plates were cleared. Whilst we were waiting we couldn't help overhearing everyone else being offered ice cream with their desserts - we weren't offered any.
The coffees eventually arrived and were nice.
We then asked for the bill and again waited ages.
I guess with a little more effort on service and some slight changes to the menu (i.e. simplify it) this place would be much better, there isn't really that much wrong with it but overall it was just disapointing.
