Only dropped in for a morning coffee but you can tell immediately that this place has got it going on. Such as contrast to many of the other village pubs around here which seem to be stuck in a time warp.

We tried the Angel's new extension for lunch on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately the food and service didn't match the pleasant surroundings, with apparent confusion amongst the otherwise friendly though invariably absent staff and a lack of flexibility in the kitchen (strictly first in first out), with some main courses being delivered before others fist courses. Shame, for with proper communication between restaurant and kitchen it could all have been so much better

The food is excellent, but a tad on the high side. However, the cost of the rooms more than makes up for it; luxurious and well worth the price. Ask for rooms 1 & 2 overlooking the village. Breakfast is included and it's fantastic.
