Located in one of Liverpool's richest art and cultural districts, The Art School is s a true labour of love and the first venue of its kind in Liverpool. Expect fine dining at this two-AA-rosette restaurant with the finest produce and ingredients set alongside a superb selection of wines and champagnes. Menus range from the Prix Fixe (available lunch and early evening) to tasting menus with optional wine flights. The Victorian interior is breathtaking, set in the Lantern Room of the 1888 Home for Destitute Children. The stunning glass lantern ceiling, with its soft natural lighting, was inspired by the building's previous life as a sculpture room. The restaurant owes its elegant ambience to Paul Askew, owner and executive chef, who was previously the chef and director at Liverpool's Hope Street Hotel and The London Carriage Works. Paul is also a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts and a passionate advocate of North West produce. In 2014, Paul was awarded the title of 'Outstanding Champion and Pioneer' at the Liverpool Food and Drink Awards as well as a 'Northern Restaurant and Bar' special industry achievement award. The restaurant is just off of Hope Street, home to the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the Everyman Theatre, making it the perfect pre-show fine dining destination. A new bespoke champagne and wine cellar, The Art School Cellars, opened in September 2017 bringing ‘gastronomic grazing’ to Liverpool with a handpicked selection of premium Champagnes, fine wines, British cheeses and artisan Charcuterie.
