visited ASK this week. Service was generally good. Need to be more observant with drinks etc... and waitress dress code (or lack of!) needs seriously reviewing!!!
Starter was fantastic (mixed mezze platter)...
Pasta was okay...
didn't have time for pudding unfortunately. A good stop for a quick pasta with friends.

This is a very good eating house. However, trying to book a table by phone is a nightmare. Other than that, we would recommend the place one hundred percent.

With the departure of the locally-owned Cafe Citron from Lemon Street comes the march of the mainstream and the arrival of Pizza Express wearing its Sunday Best.
Wedging an ASK restaurant into Truro must have been a challenge for it's owners....to come into one of the UK's smallest cities, around the corner from it's well established, well known and well loved older brother. An older brother that lives in the beautiful old Coinage Hall on the main town 'square', not just tasty unfussy food, but a great dining room to eat it in. Compare this with what ASK has moved into; 2 long narrow ground floor shops with the window at one end. It's done a great job! The design is well thought out and makes good use of what space is available. The staff too deserve praise, being friendly and who wait the seemingly large number of tables with speed and professionalism. And there lies the rub....so many tables, one kitchen, a national chain with targets to meet. The food was safe, average and sterile. I'm sure the chef would love to do more, but it won't happen here. With current TV fashion suggesting we enjoy local, fresh, unfussy dishes then this is not the place. If you fancy pizza/pasta then head round the corner for the same stuff one quid cheaper at Pizza Express. For great tasting restaurant food, just look around. Truro has plenty - with Gaudis, Mannings and Bustophers all within a 5 minute walk.

We have eaten here twice now, and each occasion has been pleasurable. The food is delicious and served by friendly staff.
