About A’Vucciria

A'Vucciria in Palermo is one of Italy’s most visited markets and it translates literally as 'hubbub’. It describes a humble place where you can enjoy simple and tasty plates of food washed down with good wine and beer or a cocktail. Rawtenstall’s A'Vucciria celebrates the Sicilian culture of eating, drinking and socializing and you can nip in for a casual bite at the bar or sit down for a three-course meal. It’s a stylish venue with a mezzanine floor that can be hired for private parties and events. Inspired by Sicilian street food, the kitchen team delivers the best of modern and traditional Italian flavours, using top-quality local and Sicilian produce. The food is complemented by a well-chosen selection of largely Italian and Sicilian wines as well as a bespoke drinks menu incorporating Italian Craft Beer and Cider and a range of premium cocktails and spirits. Open every day except Tuesday for lunch and dinner.

Had another gorgeous meal here yesterday. We opted for the sharing platter. You certainly got value for money at £30 including 2 glasses of wine. Would highly recommend.

Amazing food (as always) but it was the service we loved too. It was incredibly busy but the staff coped so well. Our waitress said she had only been there a week, she was fantastic. Very knowledgeable & just lovely. It’s our ‘go to’ place to eat in Rossendale & it genuinely never fails!

I was really disappointed with my experience. I don’t think I’ve ever left a negative review in my life but this is the first time and people should know. The food was okay whilst expensive for potion size in my opinion however that could just be subjective. However almost everything else was so disappointing. We arrived and waited for our pre booked table, immediately the concierge was rude and his demeanour was arrogant. We still hadn’t been sat down at our booked time and after waiting some time, when I asked him politely when our table would be free I was told ‘not yet’ and then walked away from. No apology or explanation. It may seem silly but to me this is such a big mistake when it comes to the dining experience. I have worked in restaurants all my life and customer communication and experience is key. To not even be apologised to, just told not yet and then walked away from was unbelievable to be blunt. No attention, no explanation, no understanding. After that during our meal some drunk man came and used the staffs cleaning spray and cloth to ‘clean’ our table. He was off his face and no one came to control the situation, the staff just stood back and watched. He sprayed over wine and drinks and our phones and when staff were asked what was going on we were told they had no idea. How is this place being run that no one is keeping on top of drunken people using there cleaning equipment and disturbing guests as it wasn’t just our table this happened to, I spoke with the table next to us and they couldn’t believe it either. Again no apology, no explanation from any staff. To be frank we spent a lot of money and whilst the decor of the restaurant is nice and the bar staff where friendly, everything else left me so disappointed because I expect so much better service from an establishment that charges this amount.
