This to be honest is one of the worst places i have ever had the misfortune of frequenting.
I remember the 1st time myself and hubby went just as it 1st opened and we were childless and had decided to go the pictures 4 the 1st time in a long time, We arrived with 1 hour and 30 mins till our film began. We sat at our table and waited 20 mins b4 we seen any sign of a waitress, then when the orders were taken we waited another 30 mins b4 i got up and asked where the food was?? I was told they had no order for me? seems they were having technical probs from the till in the bar to the till in the kitchen and somehow out order was lost? we were now coming close to having to leave to see the film,i was assured by the manager that our food would take 15 minutes if we cancelled the starters which we did...
25 minutes later and still no food i went and spoke to the manager AGAIN and was told that our food had already been served?? Well i explained if this was the case then it was not to us. He offered us vouchers for a free meal next time? mmm declined and left! had a hotdog in the cinema which was very nice!
The next few times we went the food was either awful or the service and food was terrible, My daughter got food poisoning when she went with her grandparents!
I hear people talking of portion size. But it has to also be edible!
I would give this place a very wide berth!!!!! stay at home and eat beans on toast.........

Seriously? You want me to comment?
Okay.
I wouldn't recommed this place to my most hated enemy! Roast dinner for Sunday? Er, no beef, no chicken. Ok, let's go with the lamb!
Nastiest food ever. We left most of it. The sausage wrapped in bacon was a refugee from a Xmas dinner served up long ago. It had all the consistency, and flavour, of a spent cartridge fired from a Kalashnikov rifle during the seige of Stalingrad. Thank god it was only a quarter of an inch long, and there was only one of them.
The peas were green, almost. I'd call it 'seasick green'. The palor of a ghost grey visage fixed to the face of a traveller braving the English channel for the first time during a stormy January afternoon crossing. They, too, had seen better days, and lay, inconsolable, at the edge of the plate near to Marie Piper's roast potatos. I say Marie Piper's because they appear to have been nibbled by her already. I would have sent them back but I feared for the customers queuing up for their own roast dinners. So I manfully ate them.
It's a novel idea to serve sage and onion stuffing with lamb. However, the billiard ball hardness of the ball of stuffing did not invite further investigation.
My 10 year old daughter declared the child's portion of Chicken Tikka Masala to be 'tasteless and watery'. It looked disgusting. I can only imagine that your Chicken Tikka Masala is an anagram of some other dish altogether.
Thank God it was a Two For One Pub. Then again, no. The standard of the food is exactly what one should expect when one pays £9.60p for 2 Sunday roast dinners.
I think I'll stay at home and cook next time.
In the emantime, I think your establishment should be closed immediately.
It's a disgrace.

we go to the Bakers on average, once every 2 or 3 weeks. The food is always lovely, and with 2 growing boys, the portions are great. Well worth a visit!
Disappointed
Unable to cope with large group of people even though we had told them we would be coming in. would'nt let us move tables so we could sit together. our group had to sit on two tables with there backs to each other and two of the group had to sit on there own at a table in the middle of the room.
very disappointed and what money they have lost as none of our group will return.

I regularly visit the Bakers Dozen due to the great tasting food and amazingly cheap prices! The atmosphere is also very good for both adults and children! Staff are friendly and helpful! I would definitely recommend to all!

I have visited twice now for lunch and would highly recommend as really good value, nice friendly staff and excellent atmosphere.

A large improvement since I last visited, food was great, staff polite I just felt the atmosphere has gone down a lot, needs that extra something to bring back the atmosphere.

I have been about five times and the atmosphere there is indescribable. I have been to many 2 for 1 pubs but this one has the added warm feeling together with the usually low price
