What a brilliant inn. We came for lunch with our 91 year old mum and her 81 year old sister. It was mum's birthday. The landlady told us about the pensioner two course deal for £4.95 and we all had one. Excellent home made food at an amazing price. Mum even got a free dessert with a candle! The couple who run this inn are so friendly and welcoming and the pub itself is so characterful. Great choice of beers. We cannot fault this place and give it our wholehearted recommendation.

This has to be the worst restaurant I have visited in a long time. I had Steak in Ale Pie the Crust was Solid and Burnt Black, my wife had a Hot Pork sandwich with chips. The pork was large tough chunks and unedible, the chips had been pre sailted and overdone.
When I raised the issue they were uninterested. Not going there again and will not recommend it my friends.

The bankhouse is a great place to go if you want some great pub/restaurant food, really good quality, nice atmosphere, fantastic views...definitely recommend it.

Been several times over the last few months for dinner. Food is great, much higher than average pub food. Atmosphere and decor of Bankhouse is also good and the service has always been up to scratch on every occasion.

Well, what can I say....When I walked in the door last Saturday my body began to yearn for food. Initially, the restaurant was recommended by a friend, so I was intrigued to find out if I shared their amazement. However, the only downfall was the service. We were served by a boy with a rather large nose, I can't specifically remember his name, but I think he was gay and had a strange laugh. Overall, the Bankhouse was a thoroughly enjoyable experience for me and my family and I would recommend it to anyone who shares with me a love of traditional yet classy pub food.

In a word, the food was SEXUAL. The service was ok but could have been better. Beer had to be in plastic glasses as we were sat outside (apparently it? the law!) My personal opinion is that the pot-washers should be paid more! Overall a good night and I?l definitely come back.
