If you are looking for a no frills traditional Indian restaurant, which uses fresh ingredients and doesn't overdo the sugar and colourings etc, you can't do much better than this. Prices are very reasonable too compared to other more "trendy" places.

Having read the reviews of some Sutton? restaurants, I felt that I needed to write this one. For the best curry house in the area. Which I have been going to for more than 30 thirty years now. Like a lot of Sutton folks, I myself had my first Indian culinary experience in this unique Sutton restaurant. The location is ideal, as Boldmere is a great place to go for a drink, with its many friendly and welcoming public houses and bars. And nothing caps of a night out there, than ending up at the Bengal. Having been there with parents when I was young, while I was courting, then with my husband, kids later on, and most recently with grandchildren. Service standards never slip, always has a good atmosphere, never any idiots or drunken louts there. The quality of food has always been of the highest standard, and most importantly it's consistent. The place offers a large menu, with a lot of variety. Highly recommend the Baltis if you like it spicy, if not the butter chicken is second to none!
