Was on Coast to Coast Walk and spent night in the beautiful town of Richmond in North Yorkshire.
All pubs were okay but not much on offer as to real ales apart from in the Wetherspoons, which was basically dominated by undesirables.
We attended the Bishop Blaze twice in the evening: early doors we were met by very pleasant staff and a friendly mixed crowd.
The pub itself was very clean with a lot of old character but very, very modern at same time (not what you would expect in a typical market town, but none the less this is 2010 and they did have some good real ales on aswell as cocktails of all things.
We returned the pub again after hustling around a not so busy town and found the Bishop to be full with some extraordinary entertainment.
A room full of folk musicians and singers, and a brilliant solo-singer in the bar area and a some modern music in what looked like a nightclub.
Was well worth the visit and will recommend to anyone.
