The Black Bull Inn at Penwortham can trace its history back to the early years of the nineteenth century when it was a private brewery using grain from local farms. And the beer is still a major draw here – the pub is recommended in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide, as well as holding the Beautiful Beer Gold Award and a Cask Marque. There are four rotating cask ales on tap at any one time in addition to Theakston’s keg mild, several lagers and cider. There is also free wifi access and live sport shown on three HD TVs inside and outside in summer in the beer garden to the rear.
