About Blacksmiths Arms
The Blacksmiths Arms at Talkin is a free house with restaurant and rooms that has been under the same family ownership for the last 22 years. It’s situated east of Carlisle, near the market town of Brampton, and is a great base from which to explore southern Scotland, Hadrian’s Wall and the Lake District. Talkin Tarn is nearby too and this popular visitor attraction attracts families, walkers and water sports enthusiasts. The Blacksmiths Arms is the village pub and hub of the local community serving food seven days a week at lunch and dinner. There’s a restaurant area and separate Garden Room which doubles up as a function room and you can dine in either as well as al fresco front or back (when weather permits). Expect quality pub grub, large portions and a daily specials board. The Blacksmiths Arms features in the Good Pub Guide and is a CAMRA award-winner. There are also eight ensuite bedrooms if you fancy an overnight stay.
