:Party Birthday x 3 celebration, In the group was me aged 52 Husband 55, daughter and sons all aged around 24 upwards 8 in total , when last night, (17/02/12) after being to Sapporo Teppanyaki - Liverpool, this place was brilliant, (Sapporo Teppanyak) staff 100%, Service 100%, Food 100%. Looking for a nice place to go afterwards, family said lets go to Blue Bar, night going well nice seats all having a great time then around 1.45 the volume from only what I call the dreaded old fashioned BOUNCERS, hey change this 1 x BOUNCER, what a horrible thing, he is not worthy of calling a MAN, screaming at the top of his voice, CAN WE HAVE YOUR GLASSES PLEASE, oh yes we got a please, BUT, here is the story, we got a round of drinks around 1.35am by the time the drinks got to the table it was approx 1.45, not even taken a sip, then this horrible 2 legs. small, little DANNY DEVITO LOOKING THING, YES HE HAD A HEAD, OH AND WHAT A MOUTH, shouting, loud, annoying, can we have your glasses please, I said and this was all I said, why serve us with drinks, only for you to be chasing us out, all HELL broke out, he was shouting, must be the small size in him, attemting to BULLY us, URRRRM! was he bullied at school, oh! did he go to school, could not find any sign of a brain cell, could not get a word in at all, I think he was on something,LOOKED SPACED TO ME, where did he get his energy, all we could hear was him, 8 of us trying to complain, all got out of hand, we left, going back today, MOTHERS DAY, oh not to eat to or drink never again, get my very long complaint in, by the way the drinks that was left was. 2 x ROSE with SODA 1 x VODKA and COKE 2 x PINT LAGER 1 x GUINNESS 1 x WHITE WINE 1 X BOTTLE CIDER. ALL THE ABOVE DRINKS HAD TO BE LEFT, PAID FOR, TOOK THE MONEY, DID NOT TELL US WE WOULD BE THROWN OUT AFTER PAYING FOR THEM, HORIBBLE, HORRIBLE, PLACE. WHY DO WE ALL HAVE TO HAVE THIS TERRIBLE ATTITUED FROM BOUNCERS, THEY THINK THEY ARE SOME KIND OF GOD, TRYING SO HARD FOR US TO FEAR THEM, ---------NOT, DONT THINK SO. DONT GO, MANY OTHER FINE PLACES TO GO. â€œdon't botherâ€

My Daughter had a Birthday here last weekend.The Staff were Fantastic and very attentive.Nothing was too much trouble and they really made the Birthday Girl and the Guests feel Special!The Food was Very Good and well presented.The Meal was unhurried even though they were extremely busy! The Ambience of this Restaurant is lovely...the views are Fantastic overlooking the Albert Dock.It was very comfortable and we all enjoyed a brilliant evening.

Just went for a meal at the Blue Bar, last time I went was 5 years ago. As you can guess by the time delay wasn't to impressed with the food on my previous visit. Well thought I give it another go. Arrived to be total table wasn't ready till after the time I had booked it for. When I did get to sit down, The waitress was pleasant and very helpful. Making sure we had drinks and took our order shortly after. We waited just under 30 minutes for the starters to come. Which were what I expected for the price and location. After we had finished the starter the waitress again came and cleared the table. We then sat back and chatted for a while. That while became over what one would expect. I looked around and noticed another couple who arrived shortly after ourselves in the same position. We spoke to the waitress and she head off to the kitchen. only to be stopped by the other couple with what appeared to be the same request - where is my food. The waitress returned and apologised saying the food would be with us shortly. 10 minutes became 20 and it was beyond a joke. So much so I had spoke to the restaurant manger. Who again was full of apologises. When the food did arrive which was cooked on a grill - so not really the most complicated dish to prepare and cook it was some 1 hour 50 minutes after we had sat down late to the table. The food was nice and of the quality you expect. I could find fault, but the main fault was the delay. As you might guess it will be sometime before I book a table again if ever.

Had dinner with a friend here on a Tuesday night just recently. The food and atmosphere was very good. Our starters of ribs and chicken were well proportioned and tasty and my main of clam and mussel linguine excellent. My only issue was the service which was more than a little slack that night, also the dessert menu could do with a revamp. But overall the meal was lovely.

My husband and I enjoyed a fantastic meal in Blue. The restaurant was fairly busy and we had about a 20 minute wait for a table so decided to have a drink in the bar while we waited. The barman recommended a couple of cocktails which were delicious. We were served promptly once we were seated in the restaurant and found the staff to be very helpful and polite. The food was fabulous and beautifully presented. The thai fish patties were especially delicious to start, as were the veal and wood pigeon breast main courses. I would certainly recommend Blue for a romantic meal or night out with friends. We ended up returning downstairs to the bar after the meal and ended up staying all night as the atmosphere was great!

After undergoing a refurbishment program, I think the blue bar and grill is well on its way to recapturing the quality we used to know. I felt the menu went very commercialised (American)! Over the past 2 or 3 years but I believe that change of ownership has brought about fresh menus and atmosphere. Well done blue!

I thought the menu was really good, the price was reasonable and the atmosphere was good considering it is January, I?l definitely be back, good to see blue bar recapturing its form from the beginning of the millennium
