I visited the Buffet Star on 21/6/13 and as usual, the food and service were absolutely great. I realise there had been a problem with the kitchen there (see Liverpool Echo) but this has been sorted and the restaurant is back to its best. To be honest, I've never had any problems there at all..the food is really, really good and I've been dozens of times.

Shouldn't this be removed until environmental health give it the thumbs up. The Liverpool Echo reported on this restaurant this week. It was disgusting!

Been going to Chinese buffet style restaurants for all my 30 years working in Liverpool city centre, this is the best by far and I reckon will keep my happy till I retire.

I love this place,i go everytime i go to Liverpool to visit my grandchildren,the food is amazing,staff are always pleasant and its such great value.

As a regular i would recommend this restaurant to everyone.The food is amazing,there's a wide variety.The staff are really helpful and lovely.Its clean,reasonable prices and if you have never been,try it once and i guarantee it wont be your last visit

I do not normally do reviews but thought i would spare a few moments. I have dined at buffet star a few times over the past few years, and have found it the best chinese buffet in Liverpool. Me, my wife, mother in law and son went there in October 2009 for lunch, During my visit I fed my baby whilst my wife and her mum had there lunch then once they finished I would go up. I went for a few nibbles to start which tasted Ok, They finished there's so decided to go up, I was moving along with my plate filling it up when a customer standing next to me started saying errr, im not fucking eating here, i wondered what the problem was, and then he said doint eat that mate look at that, and to my suprise there was a cockroach sitting on top of the heater next to the food and another 1 on a mirror behind, I dropped my plate in disgust, and when the waiter came over I asked him what that was on the wall he took 1 look and said nothing, we all decided to leave and the staff didn't even do anything to stop us, we could see 4 cockroaches on the mirror from our table as we were putting out coats on. My wife was sick a few hours later. We have reported this to the food standards agency and we will have to see what they do. So If you want to keep yourself alive dont eat there coz it is infested with Cockys!!!! Â« Hide
