7th April 2010. Went to this small, cosy and romantic bistro on the Linthorpe Road in the converted bakery buildings of "Forbes bakery". With only 17 seats the service is personal and the food freshly made in front of you to order. Yet with its compact size it's also fully licensed serving a refreshing range of wines and bottles beers to complement the food. I had Putanesca Bocadillios...anchovy, capers, hot chillies and the largest black olives I'd ever seen on a warm bread...it left my mouth tingling for more. I'll be back with friends and encourage others to visit as soon as they can!

This newly opened bistro /deli in Middlesbrough has a Portuguese owner and it definitely shows in the passion and attention to detail in the food. There are some Portuguese dishes which is a nice change to the usual Italian food in the area and the service is warm, friendly and welcoming. The music is a delight to listen to and is from various parts of the world such as South Africa, Brazil, Cuba. The 'prego' that i had is a Portuguese favourite and is a marinated beef steak served in a roll and served with salad & fries. There are desserts to choose from also and liqueur coffees as well as serving wine & Beers. It is a nice surprise that the prices are very reasonable for the standard of food that you receive and it is so nice to hear that 'Bahia' will eventually be open in the evenings with more delicious dishes.
It is a place to meet friends and relax to the vibes, read a magazine or even play backgammon and i will definitely be going there again !
