Our waitress Holly from Newcastle couldn't do enough for us she made us feel so welcome. We'll definitely be coming back very soon. Thank you Holly.

Cafe rouge does it again! Fitted in a meal before a cinema visit and the food was beautiful and the staff fantastic, friendly, respectful, just the right amount of attention. Both vegetarian meals were fantastic, so fresh and tasty. My friend had a twice baked souffle with cheese in which was a tad rich for me due to my low cheese tolerance but I agreed on having the compulsory tasting session with her, so light and perfectly cooked. My blanquette was delicate and full of fresh, perfectly cooked vegetables and the side salad was garden fresh. The large glass of house rose as recommended was just right. No popcorn and large drink for us after. 10/10 to you

We went to this restaurant for my daughters 9th birthday last week. Overall it was a great experience. Saturday tea time, the atmosphere was really good. All the staff (including kitchen staff) came out with a cake to sing happy birthday. The food was decent apart from the rib-eye steak which I had was overcooked. Overall a great experience for us and the kids. Recommend to anyone

been twice now, once for breakfast in the midweek and today for Sunday meal after viewing the Magritte exhibition. Food excellent on both occasions, staff attentive and friendly. Catered well for an age range from 6-56, and for meat eaters and vegetarians. Will definitely go again - maybe try afternoon tea next.

Myself and a couple of friends went here a couple of weeks ago, I used to go to the Metquarter Cafe Rouge quite a lot. So I ordered the crab salad, and after waiting about 30 minutes for it (a salad!!!) I thoroughly enjoyed about 2 mouthfuls of it....until I found a long blonde hair between the salad leaves (and I am a dark brunette, btw) so I let the waitress know, who swiped it from me and took it into the kitchen, so I sat there waiting for about 20 minutes while my friends are munching away wondering if I am getting a meal at all, also all the waitresses and the manager refused to even look at me. So when my friends had finished their meal, without having anything to eat, I asked for the bill...wondering if they were going to make me pay for the meal I hadn't had! So when the bill came I noticed they had discounted my meal, meanwhile I was starving and had the best parts of half a bottle of wine because I hadn't eaten anything. I think their manner very rude and they should be able to handle a complaint, instead of just ignoring customers. Since then I have avoided the Cafe Rouge and seriously doubt I will be going here again.

Lovely meal, simple but lovely! We went on a Sunday teatime because we had a 2 for 1 voucher on main courses! So we got two steak frites for the price of 1! The steaks are lovely and we had mussels to start and the french onion soup yum! Didnt try the puds as we were too full but what we saw other customers having looked good! give it a try, well worth it and even better if you have a 2 for 1 voucher!
