Visited Chilli Banana last Saturday and was so disappointed. The food is now so bland it does not deserve the "Thai" description. Either that or there was a serious shortage of Chilli in Liverpool that night.. My wifes Thai soup was like dish water and the beef salad was as chewy as a rubber duck and no heat in it at all. We are not great cooks, but our home made beef salad, would knock spots of what was served up.Maybe we are being a bit fussy, but I got the impression that Chilli Banana is a victim of its own success and they could not wait to get us off our table so more money could be extracted from punters.Siam Garden for me next time, much nicer.

11/12/2010 - just had a fantastic meal at Chilli Banana, I'm veggie and the selection for me was fantastic with almost as much choice as there was for meat eaters. Out of curiosity we tried the chocolate spring rolls for afters between us and they are out of this world, they are served with orange and ginger ice cream which I wasn't too sure about from the sound of it but honestly it was beautiful. Would thoroughly recommend Chilli Banana to anyone.

First time visit to Chilli Banana 30th july , it will be the fist of many we were well impressed . Great friendly staff , although we have been to a few Thai places ,this is by far the best , the menu was very varied with lots of dishes we have never seen before . the food was very well presented , sea bass and green chicken curry ( best we have eaten ) for the main course . Lovely place

I was not impressed. The portions were extremely small and the starters overpriced. Tables too close together and we had to remind them 4 times to bring our drinks.

Without a doubt one of the poorest dining experiences i have ever experienced. Food mediocre, staff poor and generally the biggest waste of money ever. Nothing authentic about the place!
Richard
this is seriously good,staff attentive,relaxed atmosphere,tables close together,(take note Mr-Winner).

"I can honestly say it was the best meal I have ever eaten in Liverpool and I have been living here for 6 years!"

Quite simply this place is a gem and the most authentic true thai restaurant in Liverpool. Friendly efficient service, fantastic fresh aromas and flavours and a good selection of reasonably priced wines to boot. Fish cakes and sea bass did it for me!

We opted for the banquet to simplify the choices for us since it was our first visit. The food was full of flavour and I enjoyed in particular the exotic spicy desserts, although not too keen on the hot and sour soup. A note on their booking policy for groups: deposit given on behalf of anyone who doesn't turn up is lost and can't be used towards the rest of the group, so be sure to know your exact numbers first. The proprietor was patient to explain. Very friendly family business.
