All the comments seem to be compimentary. However, During December My wife and I ordered fillet steak. I'm not normally a beefeater but on this occasion I was persuded to try the steak. What a disappointment , Tough and overcooked. When I compained I was told I would only be charged dor one meal rather than take my complaint to the chef who I was told is rather sensitive to criticism. In contrast, my birthday celebration at the Church was excellent . All 16 of us were well looked after. thank you especially the chef

Tuesday evening treat of dinner from boyfriend, where to go locally? Church Inn... The best decision ever!! The food was unbelievable, presented lovely, portions massive, service very friendly and comfortable. We just sat there all night saying to each other how amazing the food quality was! One of the nicest meals that we have had in a long long time!! Mussels to start, stunning sauce! with warm crusty bread... The portion was magnificent!, the pate was evenly portioned to the amount of bread you were given and chutney... Then came out the ribeye steaks!!! OMG! simply divine and huge piece, cooked to my personal liking, plates very hot, onion ring in beer batter were scrummy.. and the biggest jug of peppercorn sauce which was great for dipping the remaining chips in! - It's so nice to have a lovely meal for great value in local surroundings, my partner felt it necessary to actually thank the chef in person and compliment him, so did I!! much needed tip was given on this occasion! Can't wait to go back next week, it is on my door step but dont always think to go... oh how I have changed my mind!!!

Having recently eaten at the Church Inn, I could not sing its praises any more. Excellent food, giving you an extensive range to choose from and with 3 courses (generous courses at that) for £11.95 brilliant value for money. The staff are very helpful and friendly and they along with the real coal fire make it so you don't want to leave!! Lovely old style pub.

My family and I went there on Sunday for my 40th Birthday. We hadn't been before and a quick look at the menu prices appeared to be quite high but as it was a special occasion we wanted something good. We all ended up ordering the Sunday 3 course special. for £10.95 because we were all spoiled for choice by the 'fixed' menu. There was about half a dozen choices for each course. We all could have picked each one - they were so tempting. Everyone wanted the garlic and Parmesan mushrooms for starters so I picked the Greek salad. Both were excellent. For mains we all picked the Roast sirloin of beef for mains and we all were so impressed by the quality of the meat and the choice of vegetables accompanying it. Our waitress was delightful - nothing too much trouble. When we got to the sweets we all went for different things and we were all extremely pleased with each one. I can definitely recommend the bread and butter pudding. We all had a lovely time but it is definitely not child friendly which I think is a good thing even with a 6 month old baby. By this I mean there are no highchairs, crayons or silly meals. However, this doesn't mean that you can't take your kids - just take your own entertainment. The food and atmosphere is excellent, service great and we would definitely return even to pick from the normal menu. Just lovely!!

I'm not sure who is eating here that is actually happy with the food, the place was dirty, the food was awful and the manager was rude. It's the first time I have ever put chicken in my mouth that I could not chew, and the chopped tomatos the chicken was sat on, were chopped tomatos out of a tin. I was not asked if everything was ok, and when my full plate of food was taken, I was still not asked if all was ok, this was obviously and evident that they knew it wasn't, but ignorance is bliss, so if they dont ask they dont get any feedback. what a shame that a nice looking pub on the outside lets you down on the inside.

This is a lovely place to eat . The food is excellent and the staff are lovely . The menu is extensive but they ll do changes to a dish if you request it .
The whole place is lovely and clean , which is very important in an eating place .

Excellent service, superb food, a good local clientele, good fair pricing but above all really nice people, especially the dark haired girl called Nat.

Church Inn
Rather small restaurant but you can eat in the bar area. Food is wonderful, well cooked and presented and plenty of it. Considering they get so busy the service is very good.
Church Inn
This dining room is just to small , and the local drinkers still feel like the diners are in their way , yet the pub advertises food on the A boards !!
