Absolutely terrible - the place was half full and we waited nearly an hour for service which was dire to say the least and I had food poisoning the day after - will never be going there again!!!

We went to Cinnamon Standish as we had heard about a Sunday buffet offer that seemed too good to be true, it was, first of all we were made to wait for 10 minutes in a cramped foyer area, it's £8.95 for what is supposed to be a buffet, a buffet that offers a choice of just 2 starters & if you require poppadoms they are extra, we had 4 with a chutney tray at a cost of £4.90, the onion bhaji's & chicken tikka starters on offer were nice .
The main course offers a choice of just 4 dishes with pilau rice & cardboard pretending to be nan bread, none of which are labelled & when I asked one of the waiters what the dishes were, he didn't know either, I had a brown dish that turned out to be lamb madras, so glad I didn't just plonk this lucky dip dish onto my 2 year olds plate, she would have screamed all night it was that hot, the dish itself was quite nice although the lamb was a little dried up, my wife had chicken tikka massala & despite the tub she got it from looking full, it was an effort to find the chicken but tasted ok .
I was driving & my wife's pregnant so we only ordered soft drinks, for a glass which was about 3/4 pint of diet coke I think £3.00 is excessive .
Overall the food we ate was generally ok, I don't think there's anywhere near enough choice to describe it as a buffet & labelling of meals would be helpful to customers, I was left waiting 5 minutes for a plate as there were none left when I went for my main course, not ideal . I don't think we'll be returning here as the food is better at other local Indian restaurants, the food on the buffet wasn't replenished regularly, the drinks were expensive & it's unnecessary to leave customers waiting in the small foyer area when 3/4 of the seats in the restaurant were empty .

I have been a loyal customer at Cinnamon ever since it opened. Having tried most Indian restaurants in the area, I am in no doubt that this is the best. What is amazing (especially when compared with other good restaurants) is the absolute consistency of taste of the dishes. If you enjoy a dish once, you can guarantee that you'll enjoy it every time because it will always be exactly the same, same heat, same flavour, same taste. We've tried virtually everything on the menu over the years, and, while not everything is what I would choose (maybe too mild, or too sweet) they are without exception of excellent quality. From time to time we try somewhere else (in case we are missing something) but we've never found anywhere better. As other reviewers have mentioned, the welcome is very friendly from Khan and Abdul, the joint owners.

We keep coming back to this restaurant...the food is always delicious. The thing is - the food quality and taste is totally consistent, something which I've never come across in other Indian restaurants. The staff are brilliant - friendly and polite, and the boss, Mr Khan, has a very welcoming style about him. Our favorite dishes are Chicken Tikka Balti Madras, Machli Bhuna (fish), and Macfli Roshuna ( fish). But don't take my word for it - give it a try!

we have been to cinnamon on many occasions as we live local.we has been slightly disappointed on our last few visits and regrettably re looking for new pastures.we have felt that the service has been lazidazy , having waiting 45 mins for our bill and asking 3 different staff, with no option in the end but to get up and go to the bar to pay.we visited the Sunday buffet to be disappointed at 2 starters and 3 currys , One mild , one med , one scorcher all meat. rice and mini nan ... we felt ripped off. popadoms were extra but we were not told. mr khan is lovely but i feel things have slipped somehow.

My family have been eating Indian food for a good 20 years now and we like to have a good family restaurant to depend upon when all the siblings come home to Lancashire. After reading Internet reviews we decided to try it out and loved it. I've spent a couple of months in Goa and love cooking my own Indian food but there were dishes here I didn't know about - I had chicken tikka naga massalla and learned about naga chillies from Mr Khan. It was a great night - we all shared a bit of each others dishes which were all varied and each one superb. When you drive out to restaurants you expect them to be fairly pricey - this was very good value, starter + main + drinks (and a little education on indian food) for less than £25 per head.

A very, very disappointing dining experience. My wife and I dine out frequently and we have circumvented a number of local indian restaurants.
This place seriously let themselves down. they served up salty food and when this point was brought to the attention of the waiting staff / chef we were told 'the chef said you were having a laugh !!!'. The manager failed to address the situation.
If you want to take my advice... unless you like salty food and poor customer service you'll be best off avoiding this place

I've been to this restaurant before & its class, my family also come with me (also to Sagar's- HQ @ Clayton Green)
My disappointment is that after regularly visiting this restaurant & spending plenty of money for a high quality service, I'd just now booked a table of 8 for me & my family... The call was answered "yeah" I'd asked to book a table "wrong number mate" (with people screaming @ each other in the background!) He wasn't interested in what I had to say with his one word answers: yeah? what? when? bye! After 20mins thought, I've changed my mind & cancelled... Note to Cinnamon: LEARN SOME MANNERS, THEY'RE FREE OF CHARGE!

We first visited this restaurant around 5 weeks ago and have been back 3 times since. My first impression was how pleasant the surroundings are, lovely, bright & clean with a very warm welcome from Mr Khan and his staff. The menu is extremely inviting and details a host of well known dishes along with a variety of specials. If you are new to Indian food just give this place a try without hesitation, Mr Khan will recommend dishes for the new taste buds, alternatively, if you go on a Sunday they provide a buffet style option where you can try a number of dishes from a help yourself table which is a great introduction to Indian food. The chef here is just fantastic, everything is beautifully cooked and presented and nothing is too much trouble for the staff here. All in all a 10/10 from me and we will be back on Saturday to introduce some friends to the place. Mr Khan is a lovely person and most hospitable and he enjoys a chat with his customers. Never found a better place to eat Indian food since this place. Try it a see for yourself.
