The AA-rosetted fine dining restaurant offers diners inspired modern British menus at lunch and dinner and the hotel's afternoon tea is also a big draw. A typical three-course evening meal might start with King Scallops with crispy black pudding, caramelised onion, cauliflower puree and bacon lardons followed by Rack of Bowland Lamb with Dauphinoise potatoes, buttered carrots, seared green beans and rosemary jus and for dessert Chocolate Mirror-glazed Marquise with chocolate mousse with vanilla crumb, passion fruit gel and vanilla ice cream. The Clifton Arms has 48 bedrooms and various function rooms, including the 150-seat ballroom which is popular for weddings.

We had the Champagne Afternoon Tea which was given as a gift by work colleagues. It was absolutely delicious with sausage roll and mini soup to start and then lovely sandwiches, cakes and a scone.

we sadly could only stay 1 night,nice room 118,reception staff very helpful, dining area 1st class. we ate in the restaurant for dinner,starter broccoli soup no taste,main ok as was the sweet. will stay again, when we lived in the uk,we stayed at the Clifton at least twice a year,really good,vat kills your bill,ouch

We came for Mothering Sunday lunch, from start to finish everything was perfect. The service, our table situated by the window, the lovely jazz band, food and wine. Was all to a high standard. We sat outside on the patio for coffee enjoying the view and listening to the band. To finish it all we were given a small bunch of flowers each My Mum commented that it was one of the best Mothering Sundays she has ever had. I have to agree, thank you so much from us both. A real fine dining experience we won't forget in a hurry.
