I adore this neighbourhood cafe which opened at the end of my road a few months ago, (the sister to the same name cafe in West Didsbury). What stands out is the sheer quality of the ingredients compared to any other local cafe. Everything is freshly prepared and home-made down to the burgers. The chips are unsurpassed, in my experience: golden, crisp, delicious logs cooked to perfection, apparently cooked using fresh oil very day. And very good coffee. Prices are more than worth it. Best of all, although the interior is very simple, there is a cosy, continental feel that makes me very comfortable, eating alone reading the free newspapers. Only one gripe: the owner is charming but one or two of the young, funky staff could do with some training in smiling and social skills.
