There’s no missing Crowded House on Bury’s Manchester Road, a distinctive design-led building that’s part restaurant & bar and part beauty salon. It’s housed in an old furniture store and opened in 2015 under the direction of husband-and-wife team Dave and Johanne Banks. The ground floor restaurant & bar area has a modern and funky feel with booths along one side and outdoor seating under a canopy. The emphasis is on healthy eating here with a world fusion menu with a strong focus on sharing and grazing. Try one of the Grazing Platters – Greek Board, Asian Board or Fish Feast – or maybe tapas-style nibbles or mains such as Pan Fried Chicken Breast, Topped With Mozzarella, Cannellini Beans & Roast Cherry Tomatoes or Char Siu Roast Duck With a Rich Char Siu Glaze & Spring Onions. There’s fish, vegetarian dishes and salads too as well as separate Lunch and Kids menus. Everything is cooked to order from fresh ingredients sourced from local suppliers. There’s a great drinks selection too with wines, beers, spirits and cocktails (the wines and gins are also available to take away). Crowded House is open for lunch and dinner from 12 noon onwards, Wednesday to Sunday and has regular live music events.
