I cannot recommend Damon's at all. I have been on a few occasions for breakfast with friends and family and have never been overly impressed with the food. I usually opt for the breakfast which comes with mixed potatoes, and have requested sausage and bacon instead of sausage/bacon with egg as I do not like egg. I have found the potatoes in the past to be cold, the bacon rubbery and the sausages cheap tasting.
The main reason I will not be returning is the treatment I received on my last visit. I was served by a young Asian gentleman with a noticeable hairstyle (look out for him) who chose to question the manager about my decision to opt out of having egg on my breakfast. He returned, refusing my request to substitute egg for bacon. I told him I was allergic to dairy products. He returned to his manager and then questioned as to whether I would be having milk in my tea. His attitude was disgusting. He said the manager would come and see me and I said I would like to see them.
The manager never appeared. I was granted the privilege of having a cheap sausage and bacon combination with cold potatoes as a one-off, but informed this would not be allowed to happen again.
I wish the manage had a backbone and had come to see me. I would have kindly infromed him that his and that particular staff member's attitude were appalling.
Do NOT go to Damon's.

Mediocre food, dreadful attitude. Best avoided. Alex the duty manager really needs to get some training.

The food here is usually nice but last time I visited I ordered a piece of cake for dessert which tasted awful....it was most definitely 'off.' When I raised this with the manager she told me that it was 'supposed to' taste like that!! She also said it couldn't be 'off' as it was frozen, which is rubbish as frozen foods can go out of date the same way fresh foods can. She reluctantly removed the item from my bill, but due to the fuss she made I shall not be returning to eat there, which is a shame as the ribs and onion loaf are really lovely.

The service in Damon's is very good. I took my two nieces there for their favourite baby back ribs, which were very tasty ( I managed to pinch one). However, it was probably my worst ever dining experience. I'm afraid the steak sandwich that I had was very poor quality and did not compare favourably to my local sandwich shop and was four times more expensive to boot. The kids loved their puddings but what child under seven years of age does not?

Food is mostly deep fried, nothing healthy not even the salad is drenched in dressing. Not much meat on ribs. It is over priced and the food is poor.

my sister and i visited "Damons Diner today for the first time.it certainly won't be the last.
what an uplifting, happy experience it has been. and I'm nearly 60 years still got my own teeth i might add. the ribs were to "die for".service by Alan excellent. prices acceptionally fair in today's market. attentiveness and speed with which we were served, considering haw busy it was, is to be congratulated. can't fault "Damon's Diner" at all. cant, wait to come back. only thing is maybe people will be queuing round the block soon, so you'll have expand to twice the size haha. thanks again maria and frances from St,Helens

very expensive, quality of food on par with macdonalds, a place that kids will enjoy but it isnt the classiest of restaurants, i felt very rush and the food was barely warm. places such as the tavern other establishments on Allerton Road would be a better choice for overal value, service and food.
Avoid if possible.
