6 of us at here on a Saturday night a couple of weeks ago - we hadn't booked and it was extremely busy, but the staff were so helpful and found us a table within 10 minutes. 4 of us ordered the meaty meze and fishy meze - there was certainly plreanty of food and that's with two blokes with big appetites eating with us! 2 of our friends ate something different but commented on how good it was. Would highly recommend to give it a try if you've never been before. I'll certainly be going back.

Been going to Dimitris for years. Food is always good, but something has happened recently which has change the ambience. Went for dinner with two friends, one of whom is very poorly and wanted to treat her friends. Managed to get a table around 5pm on a Saturday evening, but were told the table was needed back by 6.30. When it came to 6.30 we were happy to move, however we still had food and drinks to finish. The waitress then offered us a table in the alley (which is very nice) However, after 15 minutes, the manager came over and demanded that table back. His behaviour was totally at odds with that of managers in reputable establishments. He positively aggressive and gave the impression that he is not up to the job. Not only was he bullying - he also encouraged other staff to gang up on us. Not sure this would have happened if we'd have had our husbands with us. Never come across anything like it. thought it was just us, but we have talked to someone else who had a similar experience at this restaurant. Take this in to consideration if you are planning a relaxing nights out with friends. Not a great way to end your evening.

It's alright.

Not! The manager shouted abuse at me when I asked for the High Chair we had reserved and been promised. He pulled my chair back and almost asked me to leave then calmed down and apologised for the lack of a chair but not his behaviour. We had already been made to stand and wait 10 mins with 2 young children until the last member of our party arrived even though our table was ready and waiting but it is his policy to forbid guests to sit down until all have arrived! Not a good experience. Food unexceptional. Rest of the staff polite and helpful.

The decor, ambience, atmosphere and Menu lean slightly more to general Mediterranean than pure Greek which I hadn’t quite expected but that was fine.
I found it reassuringly (and surprisingly) unpretentious, decent no nonsense service, good tasty food, generous portions and good value.

I visited just this evening after reading so many positive reviews. I must say I was disappointed. We were greeted by a very unwelcoming and unfriendly member of staff who mumbled that our table wasn't ready yet and that we had to wait in the bar. We had booked a week in advance, by the way. We waited in the very crowded bar for about 15 mins before another unfriendly and miserable waitress mumbled to us that our table was ready. We walked back into the restaurant area to be greeted by another customer trying to take our table! The waitress asked us if we minded, I said yes we do mind, of course we mind! But the waitress still decided to give our table to the oter customer, for some reason (!) and plonked us near the door. After that the rest of our time spent there was OK. The food was OK, no better than say La Tasca, and the staff were truely miserable, unfriendly and unwelcoming. I don't think any of us will bother going again!!!

I had lunch today and was very disappointed. I used to eat at Dimitris when I lived in Manchester 4 years ago, but obviously times have changed. The food whilst palatable was not up to the standard I remember and the decor is now very shabby. The outside eating area seems better and is probably lovely in the summer, but not in October in England and did seem to be a bit of a thoroughfare. Never mind, there are lots of restaurants in Manchester - I will have fun trying them out

I was disgusted at the bland quality of the food that does not represent Greece but a mix of all including tapas. Poor service with a lot of drug dealers handing around. I was also shocked to find out that Dimitris had a race-hate campaign against its neighbour Jowata restaurant. Apparently the Evening News and the Voice Newspaper revealed this info in February this year. Just next door on Jowata's windows you can see that this beautiful establishment had to put up with such racism from Dimitris and staff. Appalling and shameful to know this still goes on considering his establishment seems busier because of the alchohol sold on the other side of Jowata, on Deansgate.
People should be told the truth and boycott such an establishment based on Dimitris ethnic stereotyping racism. I was happy to know Jowata won all cases and stood up to old dimitris.

One of my favourite greek restaurants. Meze's good but so are the chef specials - always worth looking. The atmosphere is great & I always leave feeling pleasantly full & chilled out.

Ate at Dimitris on a lovely early Friday evening, very busy, one of the few places in Manchester that you can dine outside, nice atmosphere, restaurant is much bigger than i thought. Great variety, nicely presented and very reasonable, casual dining. Nip into the Cask bar just around the corner, for a pre dinner pint. Recommended
