Went for First time to Discovery Bay. Excellent Service. The food was Delicious and plenty to choose from. A very good variety of drinks and cocktails. The Toilets were spotless and plenty lights. I would definitely go again so would my Husband and Daughter and our 16 year old Granddaughter. The staff were very pleasant and everything was clean and spotless/xxs. So glad we discovered Discovery Bay

Very glad we booked ahead as it got very busy, however the service didn't suffer at all - our food arrived promptly and was of top quality. I made the error of choosing a starter I'd never had before and didn't like it, and they took it off the bill, which I would never have asked for - hardly their fault! Dessert was especially good and worth going back for in itself.

Travelled from Manchester purely to visit Discovery Bay and it was a trip worth taking. We had booked into a hotel just round the corner so that we were in walking distance. The food, staff, ambience was fantastic. Will definitely be returning very very soon. You do need to book in advance as we witnessed a fair few people being turned away. Please please please open a restaurant up in Manchester.

We visited Discovery Bay on Thursday evening. Fortunately I had booked; it was packed, great lively atmosphere. We had a drink at the bar and ordered there before moving to our table. The waiting staff are young and friendly and it all feels nice and relaxed. It's only a small place really (about 40 covers) but the main event is definitely the food. Our meal was absolutely outstanding! We shared a generous mixed platter starter (£6 each) and immediately realised that the kitchen was kicking out quality tastes! The spare ribs were so tasty, with an unusual star anise flavour, The chicken wings were gorgeous and crispy. For mains the other half chose red snapper special (£14), whilst I went for a chicken curry. Both were accompanied with rice and peas. The red snapper was presented on delicious thick slices of honeyed sweet potatoes. My chicken curry was succulent and a massive portion (£9). We took a look at the pudding menu; how disappointed was I that I had no space left, it looked brilliant.
In short, whilst I didn't really expect to enjoy the food or ambiance in this place I was really impressed. It's unusual but great value and real quality cooking from the chef Barrington.
My only suggestions? The Red Stripe and white wine were barely chilled; they could have done with being ice cold...and the menus (especially the dessert menu) were in tiny font! er that's it!
We are looking forward to our return visit....

This is a stylish restaurant with top quality food served by very friendly and obliging waiting staff. My wife and I are so glad this place opened in Huddersfield. A great place to relax over food obviously cooked with love. Thanks.
