Very much enjoyed my vegetarian cannelloni. I actually didn't read the menu properly and thought I was getting a meat one. Gorgeous with goats cheese, spinach and peppers. Maybe I will convert haha! The restaurant looks fabulous after its refurbishment. One to definitely return to!

Dined at Giovanni's last night before going to The Bridgewater Hall.
It was the beginning of a lovely evening, just a short walk from the theatre. We booked for 5pm (perhaps a little early) but by 5:30 there was a queue for tables. It is a great place with a buzz about it. The food was lovely, wine super and service excellent. My husband had crab and prawn avocado starter followed by veal in a wine and cream sauce-- delicious. I started with the king prawns in a garlic and chilli sauce, followed by the monkfish rolled in proscuitto ham,--excellent. The starters needed garlic bread or just plain bread as an accompaniment.. We finished the excellent meal with coffee. We shall certainly go again and would unreservedly recommend this restaurant but do book and go early!

I attended the wine tasting last Wednesday the wine was awesome and the food was fabulous especially the caramelised pears with parma ham.!
I would recommend it to everyone!

Had the worst meal of my dining history last night at this restaurant. I had cannelloni and it was extremely poor quality, the meat was pale grey and fluid like and the pasta underdone. The portion size was too small if it had been edible and today I have terrible tummy ache. I'm not one for writing reviews but the food was so disgusting I don't want anyone to ruin a nice night out by eating there so have gone out of my way to write a review. Utterly dreadful!

THE SHAME OF THIS COUNTRY IS ANYONE CAN WRITE ITALIAN CUISINE,WITHOUT BE ITALIAN AND NEVER EVER BEEN IN ITALY.THEY CAN BE FAKE AND SALE FAKE ITALIAN FOOD AND DONT GO IN PRISON. BUT IF YOU SALE FAKE ROLEX ? I THINK YOU FACE A PRISON. THIS HAPPEN COZ YOU BRITISH PEOPLE DONT HAVE ANY ROULES ABOUT, THAT ' S WHY MANY OF YOU IN 2010 STILL GET FOOD POISON COZ SKILL-LESS PEOPLE CAN GET THE KITCHEN WITHOUT CONTROLL,THAT 'S WHY MANY ITALIAN BUILDERS AND DRIVERS AND FARMERS STILL WORKING IN ITALIAN RESTAURANT,AND IN THIS WAY THEY ALLOWED FOREIGN PEOPLE TO THINK THEY ARE ITALIAN CHEFS,EVEN IF THEY DO NOT DISTINGUISH A SECONDO FROM SECONDINO OR MACCHERONI FROM PENNE ( LISCIE O RIGATE).

We went here on Saturday night before going to the theatre
and all i can say is that the service was terrible and it ruined my
evening, all we wanted was a nice meal before we saw the
show and what we got was the rudest of staff and terrible service, we wanted a nice relaxed 3 course meal but as the service was so bad we just ate a pizza and went - i will never go back !

Terrible!!
We were in Manchester Christmas shopping and wanted a nice meal to cap off the day. Upon arrival everything seemed very promising, good atmosphere, nice place. We had an 8.30 booking and showed up early. We were seated straight away and had a lovely table in the window. Wine and starters arrived very quickly and were quite tasty. I had ordered the lamb shank for my main course and it arrived shortly after our starters were taken away. It was stone cold inside, so we sent it back. I was sent another one which was also cold.....someone cannot work the microwave! Anyway - I didn't want a third. I then waited 30mins for a portion of lasagna and by this point my partner had completely finished! A second bottle of wine came by way of an apology (nobody actually said "sorry"). It's a good job we were in high spirits because we did see the funny side! I decided to order a pudding to finish off this "delightful" meal, so went for Pannacotta......it was still frozen inside!!! Nobody cooks in this restaurant...I will say no more.....
Diners
When there on a business dinner with customers (6 person in total) after reading the good reviews. The food was decent but the service was virtually non existence. Maybe we were not that early. It was busy but most customers have been served. I don't see why there was a need to be treated differently? Appalling attitude by 2 waiters. The manager just cover up and give lotsa lousy excuses. Will never go there again.

We went on a extremely busy Friday night, great service but the food was far from great. Tough calamari and a disappointing pasta choice, huge portions of sloppy tagliatelle with a awful creamy tomato sauce. My stomach was churning all night! On the positive side we sat near the kitchen and the pizzas looked really good!
