Wow, this place gets better and better, the best food around for miles.
Historic Lobster Thermidor for a special treat but amazing imaginative food, local produce, varied menus and good wines and beer. All staff well trained and nothing is too much trouble.

We came across the pub by chance on a Sunday. They had a Sunday lunch menu as well as a la carte.Choice was excellent & no course disappointed.from seafood or black pudding with belly pork starter.
With mains of roast beef or pork both satisfying the taste buds.
A good range in the sweet department which should make everyone happy. And if wine is your tipple you cant go wrong with their selection.
Take some friends,we will definitely be going back.

My wife and I had an excellent meal in the Duke of York a couple of weeks ago. The menu was interesting and imaginative and the food was cooked to perfection, with outstanding flavours and quality. The wine list complimented the menu perfectly with a good range to suit all tastes and pockets. It is well worth a visit and one of the best places to eat in the Ribble Valley.

Duke of York date visited 27th Feb 2010.
Our party of 4 was looking forward to sampling the really good food we have had on previous visits to this restaurant, how wrong we were.
The presentation of the food is first class it's just the portions were very small & miserly compared to the previous meals we've had here and as such the depth of flavour just didn't come through with the food.
This was a memorable meal all for the wrong reasons, don't get me wrong I will complement restaurants when I've had a good meal but, this left all of us empty in both stomach & pocket £140, starving.
It was a good a job we had lunch in Haworth earlier in the day. When we got back to our cottage we had to put a couple of pizza's in the oven, not a good advert.
The following day we went to the Waddington Arms for Sunday lunch and came out of there a good deal fuller and at 1/2 the price.
Will be a long time before we think of going to the Duke of York again.

We called in one Sunday lunch time on the off chance of a table as the pub where we had intended eating was closed for a private function - and we were really glad that we did. We got the last table I think, and can appreciate why it was so busy - I had a crab salad starter and my partner the scallops, followed by steak (for him) and roast beef (for me). All were excellently cooked and presented and good value for money.
One small gripe - the menus were a little dog eared and some of the cutlery needed a polish, but nothing to stop us going back.

Four of us had lunch at the Duke of York on Tuesday 23rd September 2008 and we all had the Pork Belly. We agreed it was excellent. Nicely served and with good vegetables and ales to go with it. I don't know what else they can do but if the Pork Belly was typical, it's worth trying.

Newly opened pub my family are are familiar with. New chef "Heathcote".... is not a rite of passage to super cuisine of the more well know name sake as you are led to believe by the excessive marketing which led me to try it. Admittedly it was quiet when I went (Friday night) and lacked atmosphere but you can sense it is trying and that has to be commended. Rather bland starter of goats cheese and beetroot followed by seabass which was acceptable and flavoursome and well seasoned. I was a single diner and felt like it! Staff were nice and I will go back when others have found it and it's found its feet and settled in.

Here you will find first class modern British cooking, consisting of a standard menu of staple recipes combined with an inspired and imaginative specials menu. A minor criticism was the lack of atmosphere, but the place has only recently reopened and with the quality and price of the food it’s popularity will ensure success. Visit as soon as possible before prices rise and tables become scarce.
