Great ambience a certainly a warm welcome from the friendly manageress and staff. This is a newly refurbished village pub which retains most of it's original features as befits a coaching house of it's period.
The food was somewhat disappointing however, half an hour wait for very simple starters wasn't really worth it - given that they all arrived in stages making several of us wait before starting to eat. Then we found one of the dishes was partially frozen, luckily we had swapped it with my husbands fishcake otherwise my toddler would have eaten a frozen spring roll.
The mains quickly followed but the steaks were so overcooked that they had shrunk and some dish ingredients had been confused with different meals. Decided to have dessert and coffee at home.
I think it prudent to wait to eat there until the food service operation can be improved.
