Cannot recommend despite using Ego for 2 years, last night got small chicken leg in place of chicken supreme and paid £11.45 for it,asked for Moroccan Fish stew and got some mussels and chickpeas, tasteless £12.95 asked for manager no go complained to staff, waste of time. Will not be back, or my friends either.

The food is always exciting and fresh, as that in the Ego restaurant in Heswell. Liverpool has the advantage that we can use public transport and have as much wine as we like with the scrumptious food!
Hungry
I was most disappointed with the quantity of food provided, tasty but we left hungry and lighter in pocket, after boulibaise, barely wetting the bottom of the dish and my husband had monkfish very paltry portion.

Out for a Birthday Treat before a Theatre visit,My friend and I thought we would try this eaterie. It was just before 6pm Friday eve.The Restaurant was I would say 30% full...so there were an abundance of empty tables { I know some were Reserved...but many were not! } As soon as I mentioned to the waiting "Greeter" waitress we were interested in the early eve meal deal...she said we have no Tables. But I may be able to fit you in sitting outside....where as we all know who dine out frequently, is where the Smokers sit! As we are not smokers this was unsuitable. I was disappointed in there attitude...However The Quarter around the corner accommodated us and we had a fantastic meal...will I go to dine at
Ego again.. NO!

We are regular customers at Ego but last night had a very poor meal. The calamari was soggy and overcooked. The venison casserole was completely overseasoned, insipid and the venison was very poor quality. We told the waitress and she told us it was the "nature of venison". I would not recommend this dish to anybody!!
Jimbo
If you are looking for a good standard of food at lunchtime give the set lunch menu at Ego a try. You can get 3 courses for £9.50 and I don't know anywhere else in Liverpool where you can get 3 courses at such a good standard for such a good price.
The restaurant is very clean and the kitchen can be viewed from the dining area. The service we received was excellent.
We will return!

We had an excellent family meal, just after Christmas. We were a party of 12 but nothing was too much trouble. The staff were very helpful. It was the best part of our Christmas. Well done. We will be back!
