Took my other half and mum here for a birthday treat, very average tapas and small portions (for tapas dishes),expensive and as previous recommendations same sauces seem to re-appear,disappointed to be honest. Not a patch on El Rincon!

We went to Evuna on Saturday 13th June 09 for a double birthday celebration. The food was very very poor we were extremely unhappy with the majority of the dishes we had ordered. We usually go to El Rincon but could not get in, let’s just say next time we will stay at home and do a better job ourselves.

My boyfriend and I ate here yesterday, and having arrived at 6.15pm we were too late for the tapas offer of 3 for £10. We ordered around 8 dishes altogether including bread, a beer, and glass of wine (which was fantastic), and our bill was £57. Pricey, but well worth it. You will pay 25-30% more than in La Tasca, but it is worth every penny. Fab food, nice service, great experience.

Absolutely no quibble about the wines...excellent selection and we loved the bottle of red we ordered. But the food...well a different story. Very bland; the roast veg tapas was more steamed leading to rubbery aubergine...ugh! And the manchego...no taste, very bland...where did they get it? Previous week we ate at El Rincon....wonderful food, much better than here which seemed to lack Spanish authenticity in taste.

Food, service, etc were OK and the house red was nice. But the bread was stale and, for example, six quid for four meatballs and a spoonful of sauce is a rip-off. Poor value for money. At the very least it needs a more inventive menu.

Evuna is a mediocre tapas bar that would not survive outside of provincial Manchester. Wine is good, food is average at best. Service is laughable, and outright dishonest. They require a £5 deposit for each person to reserve a table. Outrageous right? But it gets better. Then they rip you off by "forgetting" that they've charged your for the table deposit. Excellent business model - if you like getting ripped off. Recommendation: avoid at all costs or give them no tip for their rip-off sins.

The coffee was cold. We ordered 6 Tapas - the 'salad' was no more than a garnish and very limp. The squid was inedible, chorizo ok and I didn't bother with anything else.My companion ate some beef because she was so hungry. The waitress was surly. We left there and went to San Carlos.

Good food and service and an interesting wine list - just a little on the pricey side.

Went to Evuna early evening with 2 friends and took advantage of their lunch time tapas menu (as it does not finish until 6pm). The food was out of this world, the wine which is at a lower price as part of the lunchtime deal was also really good but it is only the first glass that is at the lower price and this was not made clear on the menu. All of the staff were really friendly and tentative, and the ambience was really chilled out and relaxing. Evuna does appear to be a little more expensive than the other local tapas bars but is well worth the extra money. I would highly recommend Evuna to anybody who would like to try a Spanish restaurant or anybody who is looking for somewhere to eat and drink in Manchester. This was a really good experience and I will be returning shortly.

Food was nice, although the same sauce seem to be used for 3 of the dishes we ordered (Calamari as the dipping sauce, the sauce on the Patatas Bravas, and the meatballs). Managed to get us a table early on a Saturday night without booking. The restaurant started to get busy at about 8:30pm, and the smell of cooking food became very strong. When we arrived home, all our clothes smelt of fried greasy fish - this was the only bad point!
