This is my first visit to the Ewe & Lamb for some time and since the new management and refurb has been carried out, and I must admit what a great disappointment the visit has been.
Firstly, having bought drinks and prepared to dine we was informed that a wait of 45minutes for food was needed. This was when only two other tables where occupied, God only knows the wait if the pub was busy. When the starters came out the wrong platter was served, and although the waitress was informed this was the wrong dish ,she still insisted that we could have this dish if we wanted. After a brief explanation that this was not what we ordered the waitress then brought out what we did order 10 minutes later.
When the main courses arrived, all was well until I went to put pepper on my dish only to find the pepper pot filled with salt, again the waitress was informed , and yet again not a hint of an apology, from either the waitress or the manager/landlady of the pub.
The last straw was when my 18 year old daughter began to eat her dish, toad in the hole, and realized the sausage was frozen solid, the manageress was called over and it was explained to her all the issues. Her attitude was disgraceful, and although she refunded the main meal costs, at no time did she offer a genuine apology, and showed no concern for the fact that her establishments actions could of caused such distress and even caused severe food poisoning.
I have been a patron of the Ewe and Lamb for many years, but will not be visiting them again anytime soon. I am also preparing a letter for the Trading standards department at our local council
