The Farmers Arms at Lowick Green, near Ulverston, was rescued by Grizedale Arts and the local community during the height of the Covid epidemic. Today it’s once again a thriving country inn as well as a rural hub serving the needs of both locals and visitors. There’s a café and a bar, shop and workshop, events and exhibitions plus accommodation if you fancy staying over and exploring this tranquil corner of the Lake District. The Stable Bar is the oldest part of the inn and has been restored to its former glory with an open fire and eclectic furnishings. The seasonal menu uses the best of what the Crake Valley has to offer with all produce ethically sourced. The Café is open for lunch, coffee or just a snack. Functions and private parties are welcome with a separate dining room available for private dining. The Farmers Arms also has a pretty beer garden and six acres of surrounding fields.
