About Fifty Four

Fifty Four on Wood Street in St Annes is a smart, Scandi-styled restaurant with cool and clean lines and a relaxed vibe. Open Wednesday to Sunday, it serves soups, tapas dishes and larger plates. Plus you can drop in any time for just a coffee and a cake. There’s an extensive choice with 10 fish and 10 meat dishes to choose from as well as salads and sides. Tasty options include Cod cheeks, King prawns pil-pil, Mussels marinara and Bouillabaisse as well as Spiced pork and beef meatballs, Serrano ham, Pork belly and black pudding skewers and Cassoulet. Larger sharing plates for two or more include and a Six-bone rack of lamb, half roast Duck and a whole Spanish Tortilla.

We did bottomless brunch this weekend and it was great! The food options were good and it was delicious! Served hot and fresh. The drinks arrived quickly so it was very rare we had an empty glass. Staff were friendly and happy to help with taxis at the end. The restaurant is decorated lovely and everything was clean.

Overall food was good except baby spinach with crunchy Sand. I ordered pulled pork. Very dry and crusty pork belly. Very tiny portions for the price.

Had a great tapas meal. Lovely decor, great service. Had a couple of specials and they were fabulous. Really enjoyed our meal on Saturday.

On a break in half term brought handcuffs and son and his partner were all decided to try Fifty Four. We had the whole Resteraunt to ourselves the whole time there (we went from 6-7.30!). This was to our benefit as the service was spot on witha very pleasant waitress (apologies didn’t take name) and all our food delivered fast and beautifully fresh!! The kids portion of beef burger and nuggets served with chips and veg in baskets were a good size and to quote granddaughter of 7 “the best cheese burger ever!!” As a vegetarian I tried the veg burger and it was very good and my son and partner had variety of tapas which they said was delicious. The puddings the kids had were equally as good and the bulk very reasonable. Shame we sent staying longer so we can return but will definitely go again when we revisit St Anne’s. The only slight criticism was I wasn’t aware of the discount when booking so couldn’t quote code Andy the 2 for 1 deal that ended at 6pm was not allowed even though our booking was for 6pm which I thought was slightly mean but we weren’t disappointed in eating there and will bear in mind these deals next time!

We arrived 20 minuets early and although we expected to wait we were shown straight to our table which was great. We had several dishes from the tapas menu all of which were really good. The cocktails were really good and the service excellent. We would recommend and will visit again when next in the area.
