Love this pub near Biggar on the road to Edinburgh. We always stop here for lunch and good beer on the way to the city from England. Food is very good with big portions. Real ale always good too. Real fires, lost of character and good county walks from the Inn.

If you ever, ever have the time to pop in for a meal i can't recommend it highly enough. Best t-bone i've had..... period! It was fantastic. Lamb also sourced locally and declared beautiful by my lovely wife. We were in the a-la-carte restaurant and it wasn't pub food cheap (but there is a good value pub menu, too) but the neither of us were expecting the quality chef'ing that was clearly going on there.
I'm hoping we get a chance to visit Edinburgh again, and i will plan a route past this place. Keep it up guys.
Just off the A702 coming south out of Edinburgh.

we waited 25 minutes for drinks that we had ordered and decided to leave. We weren't even asked what we wanted to eat. On walking out the surly youngster who was supposed to be serving us smiled vacantly. We couldn't even find any other staff to complain to. When they know they're going to be busy they should have sufficient TRAINED staff on. Our table was pre-booked. Not at all impressed.
(Have marked rating of food as poor but don't know because we never got any!)
