Lovely welcoming place & atmosphere with friendly staff. Food not brilliant - and when
Complained, the friendliness stopped! £18 for steak pie is expensive, if good then I wouldn't mind - it was poor. Didn't remove from the bill, when requested, it was removed and bill slammed back on desk without eye contact. Will not return

Although we did not stay to eat as they were fully booked so can only comment on the wine bar aspect - we were made to feel exceptionally welcome, lovely atmosphere, menu looked great and the olives and paprika chorizo that came with the excellent house wine were delicious - would certainly return another time, this time with a booking.

Myself and my Fiance have been to the Foundry a number of times and always enjoyed the excellent service and food. As we had family up for the weekend I thought it was a perfect time for them to enjoy the same. Although the food was still amazing the manager / owner was rushing us to take the order and came back five times. I realise that the restaurant has two sittings 7.15 & 9.15 but this ruined the evening and we were still done in time. Surely a restaurant of this class doesn't have to do this? Unfortunately the Foundry is getting complacent which is such a shame.

I was looking forward to eating here after hearing positive reviews. Due to circumstances I had to cancel our reservation for two people. My second attempt to call I got through to Phil, who I believe is the owner.
I mentioned I had already tried calling as I wanted to give as much notice that we would not be attending. Phil said he had answered the phone since 8am that day and that I can't have tried calling.
We then said good bye and Phil thought I had hung up and went on to say 'My name - I answer the phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week you F**king Sl*g.' Upset and disgusted I called back and Phil completely denied what he said, and informed me he was 'talking to his mates in his car about last night.'
And a Happy Christmas to you to Phil.

I have lived in the round foundry for nearly a year and I have just visited this restaurant....What a fantastic place. One of the best meals I have had in Leeds in the 3 years I have lived here.

We just love it there, and Phil - what an amazing guy. really polite and jovial and he has become one of my closest friends as a result of me constantly dining in The Foundry. Emmerdale stars a plenty (my favourite) and Ken Bates is always knocking around. (God I love that man!) I can really recommend this place as I love it so much. I really really like it here. You must go. It is worth the really expensive menu as it is amazing. Celebs! Millionaires!! i love it.

You are more than likely to spot some Emmerdale stars too!
