I dined at Fraiche last week for the first time and was impressed by the discreet interior, the knowledgeable service and impeccable food - all what you would expect from a Michelin star restaurant, without the pomp.We savoured eight delicious courses, each filled with surprises and flavours that made this a truly pleasurable dining experience. The cheese selection at the end of the meal is something to behold. The three month waiting list to dine at Fraiche is justified, we have booked at once to go back - truly sensational.

The most amazing dining experience we've ever had! We had the black menu and it was something like 15 courses - all bite size but delicious! Dishes were so imaginative and creative such as smoking olives, mushroom porridge, lemon meringue pie with liquid nitrogen....the list goes on! This is a meal we will be talking about for days and days!! We've already booked to go back again.

This is without doubt a great restaurant. Living locally we have enjoyed a few good meals!! However, i booked the restaurant for my husbands birthday and we took our three sons (9-12 yrs)- bad idea.
We felt obliged because of the atmosphere to constantly try and keep the boys quiet. Even worst when we came out they were still hungry and we had to buy them fish & chips (conveniently situated along the same row of shops!) Still, the boys have never forgotten their dads birthday meal!!

unquestionably the best meal I have ever had. Opted for the bespoke menu and although pricey, it was unbelievable value as we had around 20 different dishes. Service was impeccable. I can not find fault with it. I can not wait to go back!!!

Went to Fraiche again with my husband for lunch. The food was beautiful as before. The chef is clearly very talented. His food is a real marriage of unusual textures and flavours and this makes for a real dining experience. I cannot imagine ever disliking anything offered. My only complaint is that I would love bigger portions of the main ingredients and then it would be perfect!

Went to Fraiche last year with 2 friends after saving up! We knew it wasn't going to be cheap but thought we would try it. At first when we entered the dining room we were a bit intimidated by the lack of people (only 3 others) but after a drink (very delicious champagne cocktail) we felt more comfortable. We had pre-ordered the sampler menu and were asked if there was anything we didn't like or allergic to. The chef had compiled a menu and we just got served the courses. First thing was very tiny and my friends and i made jokes about going to the chippy afterwards but it was very tasty. the following courses (maybe about 9 in total) were as delicious as the last! There were some very strange food combinations (parsley foam and parmesan ice cream, veloute with pink grapefruit and mussels and a taste of carrot for one of our desserts) but the flavours complimented each other very well. Everything was very balanced and nothing left any sort of aftertaste, instead they were more aromas (very cliche but you have to try it to believe it) By the end of the meal my stomach as so content. I was not too full but far from hungry. It was quite expensive (about £70 a head in total including tip) but well worth it. I know not everyone appreciates or even enjoys this kind of thing but my friends and I think that it was the tastiest meal we have had. Definitely a treat but well worth the money (we also got some yummy freebie caramelised nuts in a lovely presentation box to take homes!).

This is the best meal we have ever eaten. We went on a Saturday night for our wedding anniversary with high expectations and were not disappointed. We opted for the Bespoke menu and everything that came from the kitchen ( and there were many, many courses) was an absolute delight. The service was friendly and incredibly efficient from knowledgeable staff and the atmosphere was relaxed. We are still talking about our fantastic evening and can't wait to go back. Can't recommend highly enough.

Overall a lovely experience, the food is innovative and exciting, the wine is superb and the restaurant is intimate. While we understand others' concerns about the waitresses, we felt that they had been well trained and that the service was excellent.

It was our first visit to fraiche and having eaten in Michelin starred restaurants before I was very surprised that Marc Wilkinson has not yet got a star. It was obvious that fraiche is worthy of a star before you even begin to eat. The service was outstanding. The girl running front of house was young but knowledgeable. We where having the tasting menu and as we did not know what we were eating we asked her to recommend wines and to our surprise she recommended great wines which complimented the food brilliantly and they weren't pricey either. The wine list is unbelievable! So much choice but it was broken down into sections which tell you the body of the wine so it makes life easier for the people who aren? knowledgeable on wines. The food is unbelievable aswell. as the night goes on it gets better and better. i had the foie gras which was the best foie gras i have ever tasted and for mains i had the lamb. it was cooked perfectly you just cannot fault the food. fraiche is an god send to the Wirral and hopefully it will encourage other chefs to improve the food reputation on the Wirral and start cooking great food like Marc Wilkinson does.
