Very disappointed by this restaurant. I went after reading the recommendations on this website on Sat 25th July. This is by no means good food (unless you are comparing it to microwave meals). Granted the entertainment is good but I've been to tepenyaki restaurants before and been more entertained. We had a cheap bag of salad to start followed by what was obviously a frozen spare rib, something that may have once resembled a scallop and a reasonably nice pork kebab. The main of chicken teryaki was tasty but I've had a lot better and the steak was bad quality meat, cut into tiny cubes and cooked until it was beyond eatible. Granted the rice and veg were nice but again, nothing spectacular. I attempted to wash this down with the worst (tasting and smelling) 1/2 pint of carling I have ever had (dirty glass and very bad lager - they should really check their pipes!) but had to give up and move onto the house beer (very nice by comparison). I must say I was sadly disappointed as this was not a cheap meal if it I had been in a table service Japanese restaurant, I would have sent the food back. The entertainment served as a slight distraction. Such a shame but I will be recommending that people don't go here. The people who have recommended on this site must have an interest in this business (or no taste buds)

We ate in Fujiyamas last night, had the most amazing food cooked for us, and the entertainment was second to none. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to anyone, large and small groups included.

I have been here twice both times in large groups and I have never been disappointed!
We ordered from the set menu and asked the chef to mix and match and share it all out to everyone.
The food is delicious and Chef's are highly skilled in both culinary skills and entertainment.
My only warning is, beware of the egg trick, make sure your hat is secure or else you may end up with an eggy hair do!

I cant say anything about this restaurant that would truly reflect how good it was. I went with a large group, we all had an excellent time, got very drunk on some sake and ate some fantastic food. I had steak with garlic and soy sauce (which I would recommend to anyone!), and found that for the night we had had the cost was worth it.
I'l be back there soon!

First of all I would like to point out that I have visited both Fujiyama and HanaHana and can easily say that Fujiyama is the better of the two by a long way. I would recommend going with as many people as possible and each person ordering the set meal, ours included king prawns, steak and chicken along with a number of other japanese courses. The entertainment on offer at fujiyama is on a par with the food. If you haven? been before, all your food is cooked in front of you at your table by your chef (who must also have enough qualifications to work in a circus) you will be entertained for hours and may also be called upon to help with the cooking/entertainment. I cannot recommend this place enough, I have also visited the Hartlepool restaurant which is as good as the Newcastle place.

Good food and good fun, set lunch recommended, try the sushi too, I have been many times and will keep going back.

This is a fantastic place to go if you want a bit of entertainment with your meal. The chefs are fantastic - and it really is about the art of Japanese food. The food looks so fresh when it comes out of the kitchen and then it is cooked in front of you. The atmosphere is what makes it, and if your lucky (or unlucky as the case may be) they put on the karaoke on a Wednesday (and a Saturday late, if you ask nicely!). I have been many times to this restaurant and highly recommend it!

Not just a meal but real entertainment as well. Excellent for parties and larger groups. We've been there about 7 or 8 times so far and the kids love it.
Food is freshly prepared in front of your eyes - sushi excellent and the rest of the menu up to a very high level.
Around £85 for 4 - pretty good but you can spend a lot more if you've a got a really big appetite or want a few drinks!
