Just been into ginger for the second time, the food is absolutely beyond compare, I told Clare that if it was not a public place I would have licked the plate.....absolutely delicious.... thinking of recommending Mark to the Vatican for a sainthood!!

I have been visiting Ginger Vegetarian cafe for over three years, and have been lucky enough to receive top restaurant cuisine at cafe prices the whole time. I have been lucky enough to be handed gluten free cakes each christmas for a present to my grandmother from the welcoming and supportive staff. I couldn't wish for a more accommodating experience.
Now that they are officially the UK's most vegan friendly restaurant, I am glad they are receiving the plaudits they have deserved all along.

Clare and Mark have just made me the most wonderful gluten-dairy-free vanilla slices for my birthday (at the special request of my best friend, as a souvenir of our teenage indulgences!). This is typical both of their unbeatable customer service and the best vegan food I have ever had. Every savoury and sweet course I have ever eaten there (At least once a month for the past four years) has been delicious and great value.

How can I tell you just how good and accommodating you are Mark

Both my daughter and i have serious allergys and are vegan. at every opportunity ginger cafe have gone out of their way to accomodate our alllergies and provide us with very tasty food. we eat there very regularily. The conversations with the staff are always pleasent and they always come up with fresh ideas for our tricky diet, unsure what wollyboots is on about if im honest.

I have been visiting Ginger for almost four years now, and certainly don’t recognise the “surly woman†referred to in the comment posted on December 21st. Clare is the most welcoming person I know, and she goes out of her way to accommodate her customers.
Ginger is my go-to place; the one place in Halifax where I can be sure of a warm welcome and a delicious vegan meal, the place where I can take friends and know they’ll enjoy it – even cynical meat-eating ones who enjoy their meal so much they ask Mark for his recipes.
Between them, Mark and Clare cook all the food from scratch, including the breads, using whenever possible local organic ingredients. Ginger is approved by the Vegetarian Society and last year was voted the most vegan-friendly café in the UK. Don’t listen to Mrs Grumpyboots – go there yourself and see what the rest of us are talking about.

I have been a regular visitor to Ginger for about 3 years now. As a vegan I appreciate their care and attention to the food they make. They always go out of their way to produce food that my nine year old will eat and always have vegan cake :) Just asked my son for his review and he said "absolutely brilliant"

As owner and chef at Ginger for over four years I have dealt with all types of dietry requirments over this time. The lady who visited us on the 21st actually turned up 15 minutes before we closed for christmas and enjoyed one of our many gluten free cakes. All diagnosed coeliac s are entitled to bread on prescription. We have always said that if we know in advance we will cater for anybody and this includes personally making (not buying ) gluten free products. We are sorrry that she did not enjoy her visit but as anybody who visits us will know we tried everything we could to make her happy buy this obviously wasnt enough.

I have been a regular customer at Ginger for over four years. I am coeliac and vegan also. I Love Ginger cafe as I find there is always a choice of gluten free and vegan dishes (and also at least 2 desserts) that I can enjoy. Ginger is one of very few places where I am able to eat vegan and gluten free without a problem. The staff are very friendly and will always do what they can to cater for people's tastes and requirements. Ginger is Awesome!

I visited this cafe at lunch today and advised the woman serving that as a diagnosed Coeliac I required gluten free bread. I was met with a very surly response 'that it was too expensive' and they had had to 'throw loads away' suggested it could be frozen and she told me that 'people would want sandwiches??? . At no point was there any effort to accommodate my needs. I find this kind of attitude from a 'so called right on/local/fairtradey place rather sad. I will not return again. I know many restaurants in the Todmorden/Hebden Bridge vicinity that manage a gluten free diet with a smile.
