Superb lunch time meal today . Both myself and guest had home made pie chips and veg with real ale . First class host as barman .
Pie was freshly made and was gorgeous . Pity it was so quiet .

This place was closed last time I was in the Inglewhite area but has had a total refurb and been given a new lease of life. Very impressed with the interior and planning to go back to eat here soon.

Visited this pub for a food last night. The pub is charming and very clean despite all the knick knacks. The food is very good, well cooked, well presented and tasty. However, the portion of chips for two was what I would call a decent portion for one! Also had a dessert which was also nice but not sure it was worth the £3.95 they charged for it. My one major complaint is that the landlady is a bit of a jeckyll & hyde character. Very pleasant and chatty until we asked where our dessert was after 35 minutes of patiently waiting (only waited 15 mins for main course). Got our heads bitten off for our trouble with the landlady complaining that they were dealing with starters and mains and there are only 3 of us. Think the problem was that there was a bit of a surge in customers but still no excuse for rudeness! Would I go again? Yes for the food if the service was less changeable - don't think I will be in a rush to go back any time soon.

Dorothy, Paul and staff have a unique rapport with anyone who visits The Green Man. They are so welcoming and friendly to everyone. Paul is one of the best cooks we have come across over many many years of dining out. The roast duck is to die for.My elderly Dad cant come with us anymore for his frequent Sunday treat so they always "plate" a meal for us to take back so he can still enjoy something of the Green Man.
Well done all, with the food and friendliness that you give you will never go wrong.

This is not a recomendation. Myself and my family visited the Pub yesterday for a nice relaxing Sunday Lunch.
We ordered our food at 4.35pm and checked to see where is was at 5.15pm. We were told that there had been a problem with the veg. We finally got our food at 5.30pm but not what we ordered.
We had ordered 3 x Roast Dinners and the Veg advertised was Buttered Carrots, Mashed Suede, Cauliflower Cheese and Savoy Cabbage. What we received was carrots that had never seen butter and leeks in white sauce! We complained and were referred to the owner. A lady came over to us and very abruptly asked what the problem was. I explained that we had waited nearly an hour for our food and that no-one had come to explain that there was a problem. When we mentioned about the veg being completely different and not much of it we were told that no-one else was complaining and what was the problem it was only veg!!!!!!! The problem is we were paying for food that we had ordered and that was advertised and we didn't receive it. We also didn't received any kind of apology. All the proprietor could say was that they had been very busy earlier in the day. I am sorry but that is not my problem! In the end the woman shouted at us to just go! I have never been spoken to like that before in my life and hope that I never am again. We paid for the whole meal and left. I will certainly be advising everyone that I know (and I work at a major university nearby) not to go to the Green Man unless you are prepared to get abuse! Very Very unhappy customer.

A fine pub. Recently `done up,' but they have refreshed it without killing its character, Great people, very good beer, and I can recommend the food. (PS: I'm picky, trad, choosy about beer and nosh, and hard to please!)

Always a lovely welcome from Dot and staff, best food in
Lancashire, Paul first class chef, lots of variety, cooked
to perfection. Have missed visiting while refurbishment,
looking forward to opening in February....Would recommend
any one to visit for a really good meal.
Green Man
We visit the Green Man whenever we get the chance, the food and the staff are excellent. My wife is a chef and can be a little fussy when it comes to eating out, but cannot find fault with anything on the menu. The food is locally sourced and comes in sizeable portions which is a winning combination in my eyes.

Excellent again!
Now had multiple trips to this Pub where you find a convivial atmosphere albeit with a fairly rural/local feel.
Recommend it for quality (and quantity) of good hearty traditional food. Not too many frills and frippery here - just good beer and good food.
