Brilliant immensely popular Indian - the oldest in the city. Reasonable price - the meat biryani is highly recommended . An Indian friend on a visit told me it was the only authentic Indian food he had had during his 6 month stay. Get there early at lunchtime - the places is packed!

The best curry place (just outside) The City - as witnessed by the lunchtime clamour for seats. The Meat Biryani beats anything I've had anywhere. A friend over from India said it was the most authentic Indian restaurant he'd found in London. (Oh, and the Samosas are apparently like his mum makes back home)
