I booked a table here for myself and my elderly parents as a treat for Mother's Day. We arrived at 12pm, as did another party of four. Apart from the three of us and the other four people the restaurant was completely empty. The waitress went to sit us next to the other party at a table for two, so I asked if we could sit in one of the booths and was told they were all reserved. I explained that it would be a squeeze for the three of us to manage on a table for two and as it was directly next to the other party it may look like we were all one party. The Manager then said we could sit in the booth in the window. As the restaurant had only just opened it was still quite chilly, but the draft coming from the window behind us was unbearable, so I asked if we could move along to the next booth. We were told that this was not possible as this table was set for five and that they would be arriving in 25 mins. I explained that if we moved, our booth could be re-set for five as the booths are equal size. By this point we had been given the wrong menu... twice. The Manager was adamant at this point that we could not move, so I asked my parents if they would like to go somewhere else. We were told by the Manager that as it was Mother's Day we would struggle to get in anywhere else. Because, by this point we had decided to leave for numerous reasons the Manager said we could move to the next booth along, presumably as he didn't want to lose custom. I said we would take a chance finding somewhere else to eat and as we got up to leave the Manager started to get abusive and physically started pushing me and shouting at us to get out. I wouldn’t mind but we were giving the place one last chance as the food was on offer. We had eaten here twice previously. The first time we were given the wrong order and had to wait nearly an hour for our order to be cooked and served and the second time, my Dad’s meal was cold and had to be sent back and warmed up. Needless to say I wouldn’t step foot in this place again if you paid me. All I can say is... if you don't mind mediocre food (when it’s correct and hot), cold surroundings and rude abusive management this is the place for you. Alternatively, spend your hard earned cash elsewhere, we did and it was lovely.

This was our first experience here. We were using a groupon voucher which stated that champers cocktails were included, there was no choice, it was a simple buck fizz, very disappointing. The chateaubriand was delicious, can not fault that but not once in the time we were eating did anyone come and ask if everything was ok with the meal and even when collecting the plates not even a smile or word from the waitress was evident. We were sat right in front of bar where we listened to drinkers swearing and speaking loudly due to the amount they had drank, and that came from their mouth not mine. When finally asking for the bills was astonished to see that they had charged a gratuity of £11 which was inapropriate

Having very quickly become our favourite restaurant I decided to take my girlfriend on Valentine's Day. Once again the chef excelled himself with his amazing attention to detail. The special valentines menu forced us to select different dishes to our usual favourites but we weren't by any means disappointed. The restaurant oozes class & sophistication and the wine bar downstairs is a cool place to enjoy a pre-dinner or post-dinner drink. Looking forward to our next visit already.

My boyfriend and I love this place. Very cool and laid back. The food is
fabulous with a great wine list. Definitely my favourite place to eat.

I have eaten at Byzantia twice now with my husband. Both times the food has been amazing! I love healthy foods and can definitely recommend the great selection of fish dishes (especially the Sea Bass). I can't seem to get my husband to try anything other than the Rack of Lamb which he's had both times and just loves!! There's also a great bar to chill out in afterwards too! Try a cocktail, you won't be disappointed!

What a great place! Really warm, ambient atmosphere in the bar, and the restaurant was intimate and relaxed. Dim lights made it really romantic for my date and I, but there was plenty going on to still make it buzzy. The food was pleasantly surprising, as I am a Veggie and there was a really good selection for me. My date is a big carnivore! And he was more than happy with his meal too. We would definitely go back, and they now also do food in the bar (so the nice bloke who saw us out told us!)
