I went to the hare and hounds pub last night (bonfire night). And after queing up for 20 minutes we ordered 2 hot chocolates and were told we could not be served without ID. I am totally appauled by this as i am a regular customer there. In addition to this, the bar staff had watched us queue up the whole time and did not tell us we could not be served before hand.

Went to the Hare & Hounds on friday evening for a quick tea, and I have to say the food was lovely when it eventually arrived, one hour late. So would recommend this place for the views and the food, but not for service or speed of service.

Visited on 13/12/03 was very surprised to see the variety of choice on the menu. There was an excellent selection of sea food on the "chefs specials" salmon & mussel pasta at £9.95 Shark loin on a ratatouille base at £10.95 starters one of which was tempura plaice goujons with wasabi dip at £4.65 A large selection of main meals such as Lamb & apricot pie at £7.75 The wine list varied from red at a Cotes du rhone for £9.95 to A beaune Premier CRU ropiteau for £21.50 whites £8.95 to £21.50 allegedly selected personally by Tim Atkin master of wine for the observer. All in All a very good selection of good food presented & served well for a pub outlet of Chef & Brewer. For the beer drinker Boddingtons, Smiths smooth & Courage directors.
