A gastropub with brilliant food and a wine selection to die for.
We dined in the bar where we were warmed by the woodburning stove. The 24 hour cooked pork just melted in the mouth and with a NZ Pinot Noir to drink you could not wish for anything finer.
We have enjoyed many meals here and can only give it the highest recommendation. we will be back!!

This is a wonderful place for those who love real food cooked beautifully. The new Chef, Ross, has the magic touch. From the best ham eggs and chips ever to partridge and venison pie to die for. This is the best place to eat at a sensible, every day price,in this area.

Called in on a sunny day recently whilst on route to Devon, I had heard a buzz about this place. I took lunch of Moules frites at the al fresco area at the back of the pub, a lovely area with big umbrellas and an amazing view of the rolling countryside. The food was very good and the wine list a revelation. I can really recommend this place if your in the area or travelling along the A30 to stop off here.

I paid my first visit to the Harris Arms last night and I was not disappointed. First of all I was pleased to find that it's a pub that serves excellent food rather than a restaurant that is nominally a pub, so I would be as happy dropping in here for a drink as I would coming in for a three course meal. My partner and I enjoyed a very good meal, well presented and using quality local produce. The menu is not extensive, but the specials vary regularly and the ingredients are locally sourced and of outstanding quality. A strong feature of this establishment is its interesting and very reasonably priced wine selection. The owners come from New Zealand and have a background in wine, which is a real strength of the place. For the beer drinker they serve good local real ales too. I would recommend the Harris Arms to anyone who enjoys good food and wine at a sensible price, and I look forward to returning soon. It's not a large place but it is popular, so, if you're planning to eat, book before making a special journey.
