Went here over Christmas - food very poor, the roast lamb was inedible, steak at £14 accompanied by two small mushrooms cut in quarters and I know when a so called homemade chip has come from the freezer! The steak pie which should have been served with a jug of gravy was served already swimming in gravy. We were not alone in complaining about the standard of the food - by chance the next table had ordered similar meals so I know it was not just us being over critical Service also very poor, I didn't expect that we would be fetching our own cutlery! It's a shame because the building and decor is really nice. The meal was a treat to the family from my 87 year old mother so we were rather reluctant to complain but felt we could not let it go. The manager was actually very apologetic and took 20% off the bill so well done to him, but a rare family evening with everyone together in Yorkshire was spoilt.

Slightly disappointed, the menu available is missing some items that are shown on the "online menu" Appeared to wait for ages before being acknowledged by waitress. When ordered, the food arrived fast. The fishcake starter was very tasty though and the steak pie and gravy very nice. Shame about the dry lacklustre salad and the rubbery uncooked vegetables though. The garlic mushrooms in "sauce" were really swimming in a watery "milk" mixture. Price was just acceptable but nothing to write home about.

A great location with a lovely atmosphere, Child friendly and cosy. The food is the best, top notch pub grub with a few delicious wild cards.
