About Hewat’s Restaurant
Richard Hewat is a chef with 25 years of experience under his belt. He was head chef at Fisher's Bistro in Leith when it won the Egon Ronay Seafood Restaurant of the Year award and went on to run the catering at the RBS world HQ in Edinburgh. He took the plunge and opened his own restaurant in 2004 with wife Margaret handling front-of-house and menus that showcase classic French and Scottish cooking. Expects starters like Seared Hand Dived King Scallop with Smoked Salmon, Garlic and Caviar Butter Sauce and mains such as Roast Tenderloin of Boar with Morel Mushroom Sauce and Serrano Ham, Arran Mustard Mash with Savoy Cabbage and Roasted Carrots. Hewat's is open for dinner Monday-Saturday and is situated just a few minutes from the city centre in Edinburgh's Meadows district. The restaurant also has a private dining room which can seat up to 12 people.
Was here in January with my boyfriend, mum & dad and the food was excellent -will definitely be going back to this restaurant for special occasions or just a romantic meal for two anytime.
