This little gem is hidden up saddler street, the food was superb, i started with the scallops (cooked as they should be)then came my ribeye tender and full of flavour. fat chips i love em! and a bearnaise sauce. I skipped dessert watching the weight! the service was very good, smiles and nothing seemed a problem. went mad and had a chateau neuf du pape, not that expensive for a restaurant, but went well with the steak, finished with a double espresso i am fussy about coffee but Hide coffee is without doubt very good. I will be returning and forget the calories IT'S GOOD!

I have to admit... I don't often take Mrs me out on a Friday without booking ahead. Tonight I did. I thought, as a bit of a treat I would take her to some of my old haunts in the FAB city of Durham. We arrived had drinks and entered Hide, a place I had been to in Yarm, Teesside, but not Durham. I cannot praise the service we received highly enough, the place is smart and given we just arrived they were very accommodating. The starters, as is so often the case were fabulous!!! Then came my fillet steak, cooked just the way I like it. You know medium rare, a bit of juice running from its red interior. A fine piece of beast it was, shame the chef decided to put so much salt on it. Then I got it... no vegetables except 'French fries' slightly marred my experience.
